Buying Elections

By: Diane Benjamin

Local council and school boards are labeled nonpartisan because doing what is best for the people they serve shouldn’t be a political football. I’ve stated for years progressives don’t believe in nonpartisan. They want power and now they aren’t afraid to just say it outloud.

Excerpts:

The 2025 local elections are the second time that Illinois Democrats are getting involved in nonpartisan races. After recruiting more than 1,000 prospective candidates last year, the state party is supporting 270 candidates for a variety of local offices in all areas of the state.

The party trained the candidates and attached them to “coaches” experienced in running Democratic campaigns. Candidates will also be supported by a six-figure advertising campaign by DPI in the coming weeks.

“I think our voters welcome the information,” Hardin said. “They want to know, and they need to know, who the aligned candidates are.”

Since the election is April 1st, voters will not know who most those 270 candidates are. The Democrats are spending BIG money to elect their ideology when local decisions should be common sense. Reports for the 1st Quarter won’t be filed until after the vote is over.

What local candidates are being supported?

It’s a secret!

Enjoy being lied to? Nonpartisan elections are being bought by partisans. History proves progressives raise taxes because they promised “to get things done”. Money required – yours.

  1. One of the bigger issues happening currently is the out of control house taxes of which much of the money goes to support schools and school pensions. Isn’t Cody Hendricks a school teacher do you think that he will support and make any effort to lower taxes on homes? Just saying!
