That link contains this chart:

Leroy just raised water rates for dangerous water. See more in this report: https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/670e66c8e7afa4bf3638b217/68430b05cd83a264d510ea9f_PKFL%202025%20Illinois%20Report%20V6.1.pdf

Residents of Leroy can continue to sit out local elections. This is the result.

Quote from the report – PWS is Public Water System. Note the date all lead lines will be replaced:

  1. LEAD, forever chemicals, radiation levels, copper and more ….known issues in several McLean county and rural communities that were never tested or samples correctly and communicated. City lines and mains break all the time and towns just say the issues or finding are due to property owner or their “dime” to fix know city property line issues decades old. Anyone that asks or questions about old water lines, utility or tax questions gets blackballed and labeled and defaced. (Seen and been victim to this behavior by “leader”several times)

Sewer systems were never out in some towns either (not sure where the $$ go.
Putting in non existent or new fire hydrants on streets seems to cause other breaks and problems and property owners get stuck $$ and blamed for that as well. Property owners get defaced and have constant problems.

Seems like a playbook and run around at taxpayer expense. The data and systems lacks integrity.

Most infrastructure and water lines and very old sides of towns/villages break anytime city work is done.

Lead- just another decades long “risk” dumped on taxpayers and utility payoes, vulnerable families and citizens.

      1. I noticed the big nursing home complex in LeRoy is for sale and closed down. Wondering if water issues were on that side of town too? If its on one area of town its probably in others. Who knows…Noone gives real answers ever and passing the buck to taxpayers and property owners is the playbook. Never ending- hopefully when my grandchildren are older they won’t have to deal with the politics and being exploited and poisoned. (more than they already have been).

Its easy to pass the buck to taxpayers and utility users and citizens and deface folks. We are in the business of doing business aka “leadership.”
