Misc + Bloomington tonight

By: Diane Benjamin

We spent the weekend in Wisconsin. We saw ZERO gas stations with gas over $2.95 a gallon. The roads are extremely better than Illinois, obviously freezing and thawing is just an excuse. There was a lot of road work being done.

The area we were in received 7 1/2 inches of rain in about 14 hours. There was little flooding. Closer to Milwaukee flooding did occur. We were north-west of there.

Elected officials who break City Code are officially exempt from prosecution, that court is only for you peons. https://blnnews.com/2025/03/25/cody-hendricks-chief-cheater/

I only see a few things on tonight’s Bloomington Agenda that will make citizens life better, many things that make government’s better however.

More government speak: They will be putting a street on vacation. It’s too hard to state some developer needs this small road for some undefined project. Add this to the list of terms only they use: https://blnnews.com/2025/06/20/government-speak/

  1. We just got back from a weekend in Missouri and the highest gas was $2.69, closer to Arkansas we saw $2.39.

  2. And the gravel roads in Missouri are in better shape than the paved roads in IL, especially better than in B-N. Gravel. Let that sink in.

  3. 12 hrs ago on WGLT Local News there was an article about Annie’s Eats exploring building their catering business and referenced a one block one Elm going on vacation.
