You made me almost spit out my coffee, Diane.
Reminds me of that Huffington Post picture that was circulating a few years back. In that case it was a picture of a conference room full of diverse white women.
When they do have diversity, it typically comes in the form of interns who are paid less and are temporary workers. Secondly, every editorial leader there is the proverbial “straight white man,” which is deliciously ironic given how much their parent institution (ISU) preaches diversity at all costs and — in general — denigrates the straight white man. Thirdly, there is aboslutely no diversity of thought or political leaning in that editorial group. They are all left, with the only variance just how left they are (center left, left, far left). Fourth, the majority of editorial FTE staff that have departed the station over the past several years have been women, a mildly interesting fact in relation to the second point mentioned above. I don’t favor diversity quotas and think they do more harm than good. But I do care about hypocrisy, which this photo, from this institution, radiates.
Anti-racists always rise to the top because they can never do enough.
Old white snobs.
