I Need a Realtor to Explain This One

By: Diane Benjamin

Yesterday buying a 1.734 acres was on the BNWRD Agenda. This property is undeveloped according to the pictures, but it does have Goose Creek. It appears BNWRD wants to control that creek since it drains into Sugar Creek. I’m just wondering why it cost $90,639? Can anyone explain it? $52,272 an acre for a creek nobody is going to be building a luxury house on?

The documents claim this is the same price BNWRD paid for other Goose Creek property. Not listed is when those acquisitions happened or why $1.20 per square foot was paid then.

  1. Are you kidding me? Why didn’t they just take it by eminent domain when they first started going after land? Sounds like because they didn’t do that the first time now they are tied to paying what they paid before. How dumb was that?
