One more thing happened at last Monday’s Committee of the Whole meeting. City Manager Jeff Jurgens called again for water conservation.
If you are letting faucets drip so your pipes don’t freeze, make sure nobody knows.
This is part of slide Jurgens showed, the rest is fuzzy:

.
In 131 years Bloomington is only in the 9th driest year? I might buy into Climate Change if the last 9 years were the driest in history, obviously they weren’t. We are in a drought, but not the worst ever.
Meanwhile BNWRD has spent $655,888 to control flooding because of Climate Change rains.
https://blnnews.com/2025/12/31/bnwrd-story-6/ $565,249
https://blnnews.com/2025/11/11/i-need-a-realtor-to-explain-this-one/ $90,639
Just hit play to see the slide and hear Jurgens asking for water conservation:

Just think of how many people would not be homeless if the government wasn’t stealing so much money from the populace in the first place.
Ha, you gotta love it the government stealing from the populace or the populace stealing from the government. Only in Minnesota????
People act like government waste and corruption isn’t a big deal; they’re wrong. Your individual share of Somali corruption in MN is roughly $25. “$25? So what?” Except that it’s not just from you – it’s from Everybody. Your friends each paid $25, your coworkers, $25 each. The single mother who cannot afford warm shoes for her kids paid $25. Those kids, who have to skip birthday parties because they can’t bring a gift, would likely cry tears of joy if you gave them back their $25. The older lady slowly dying of loneliness could use that $25 for stationery, or candy for their grandkids, or small gifts for the volunteers that give them rides. And so many others.
And that’s Only For MN! We know there’s comparable misappropriation of funds here in IL. Rumors of similar corruption in OH, and I’d bet a paycheck that CA is worse than any of those, maybe even all three combined.
Here locally, every poor allocation of funds can be translated into unemployment numbers. If a town manager, or a pro-indoctrination school official, or a collection of lower-paid leftist operatives, is overpaid or over-pensioned by $50K, or if equivalent unnecessary purchases are made, each of those instances is one more person without a job because their salary was stolen by the government.
Anybody who says they support wasteful government spending out of compassion needs to know that they are actually Hurting the very people they claim to care about…
This is what happens when you hire someone For a job that is way above their pay grade ability. It would be like in medicine if you threw a first year intern into a serious surgical situation alone, yes, they have the knowledge theoretically.
They’ve completed medical school and are at their first day of residency, would you trust that person to perform surgery? No! Because surgeons not only do five years of residency, but go on and do another 3 to 4 years of surgical fellowship and then some of them, after that, continue training and further specialize for another 2-4 years longer before they finally graduate and go practice on their own. That’s the difference between a general surgeon, and say a thoracic surgeon, neurosurgeon, or a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon.
Training to become a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon is a rigorous, 14–16 year process involving medical school, a 5-year general surgery residency, a 2-3 year cardiothoracic fellowship, and 2-4 years of subspecialty training in pediatric congenital heart surgery. It requires mastering complex congenital cardiac anatomy, pediatric intensive care, and neonatal surgical techniques.
But I digress, the point is when the city or county hires ideologically driven individuals that have no clue what they’re doing, but can talk a little bit about it, just enough to sound a little bit knowledgeable, like they know what they’re talking about because they read an article online or maybe pulled up some AI right before they walked in or listened to some of the Water Dept. Staff to get the lingo, because they actually know what they’re talking about, and that person pretty much is faking it between ideological baloney, and everything I just said above. You can get away with that for a while, especially when you’re buddies with your bosses.
Does he even realize that what he’s saying and how he’s saying it is sounds ridiculous or does the sound of his own voice reverberate throughout his brain and cost so much enjoyment he just ramble on and on. But if they would collect the water that they’re having difficulty with, they wouldn’t be having problem with not having enough water. Is a very easy logical way to solve these problems, financially different story.
Fix the lake and fix the drainage.
So the solution would be to fix the lake!
It’s kind of funny that whenever they have a pet project like a bus that they want some electric bus or bike lanes or putting an electrical charger somewhere they don’t have a problem getting alone or somehow finding the money by taxing us. But if it’s providing freshwater for the entire city of Bloomington, suddenly can’t do it we don’t have the money can’t find the money. It’s impossible. I can’t find a cure we’re all gonna die. The world is ending. We’re in a drought. There’s too much water and it’s because of climate change.
It just doesn’t make sense to the logical thinking person. There is always an answer to every problem back in the day when they needed water they built a lake or are they damed up a stream. has anybody looked if there is a possibility of these options? Capturing water from the retaining ponds.
