The Must See Part of Bloomington’s Meeting Last Night

By: Diane Benjamin

Matt Burgess, Home Sweet Home Ministries, gave a presentation on how the first month operating The Bridge is going. He gave an honest report that is worth listening to.

4 people have already been kicked out. 2 others left voluntarily. Others had difficulty adjusting to living indoors. Matt has also seen people totally change just from getting rest. The goal is finding these people permanent housing. The Bridge isn’t that.

The Bridge does not appear likely to suffer the same fate as other “shelters” around the country. Residents are not allowed to violate the rules, and numerous other cities have contacted Matt to learn more about the project.

Burgess showed an aerial picture of The Bridge. Construction is almost complete, they have landscaping yet to go. Matt listed many people and organizations that have contributed. I was impressed, I bet you will be too.

  1. That snow that hung around for three months. Just out of curiosity I grabbed a snowball and took a match to it. It slowly burned black rather than melting like water. No worries. Chemtrails? Bill Gates knows best. Add aluminum and other sythetics to reflect the sun back in to space. It’s no wonder the snow turned black. That’s your ground water folks That’s covering all that luscious IL black dirt farmland.

  2. I just listened to the presentation and I’m pleasantly surprised. I was definitely a skeptic. Now I’m heartened to hear how well it’s going. I hope rehab & sobriety remain priorities, as well as employment. So far, it looks like a success and I hope it continues to be. I also hope the communities he mentioned will benefit from this experience to incorporate this in their towns.

  3. Very positive news! I was a bit worried how it was going to be monitored.
They have a great plan & I hope it helps people in need.
    😊
