New Illinois Convention Ticket Information

New Illinois’ Ninth Constitutional Convention will be held on April 10 & 11 at the Chateau Hotel and Conference Center, 1621 Jumer Drive in Bloomington. The event will be open to the public. If you are a member of a New Illinois County committee, or if you are interested in helping to start one in your area, we encourage you to be there!

Friday registration will be from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The event will begin with an optional prayer gathering, a social hour, and a VIP reception.

Dinner will be followed by a keynote address from Shannon Adcock.

Shannon is the founder and president of Awake Illinois, a grassroots nonprofit movement dedicated to defending parental rights, restoring academic excellence and transparency in education, and advancing constitutional liberties across Illinois. She will speak again on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning will also feature a presentation by State Representative John Cabello, who has served in the Illinois House since 2012. He has also worked as a Rockford Police officer and detective for nearly three decades. John is a conservative Republican who has opposed the many tax and fee increases introduced in Springfield. He believes that government should live within its means. Rep. Cabello is one of about a dozen Illinois legislators who openly support our movement for a new state.

Also on Saturday:

  • Marty Kelly, Chairman of the Finance Committee, will provide information on the financial feasibility of a new state.
  • Dan Juffernbruch, Chairman of the Constitution Committee and New Illinois Senate Vice Chairman, will report on the progress on the second draft of the New Illinois State Constitution. The committee worked on the first draft for two years, completing it in November 2024.

After lunch, Larry Mulch, New Illinois State Vice Chairman and Hancock County Committee Chairman, will host a discussion and answer questions about New Illinois.

  1. Will New Illinois be the 51st, 52nd, 53rd or 54th, 55th or 56th state after:
    Venezuela
    Cuba
    Greenland
    Iran
    Canada

And BTW if they are so unhappy with the way Illinois is run they should really come up with a better, more original name than just sticking “NEW” in front of ILLINOIS.
