All You Need to Know About the Bloomington Township Meeting:

By: Diane Benjamin

The Grocery Tax and Data Centers were never the reason the meeting was called. The local radicals wanted a vote against Israel.

Isn’t it nice that Public Comment is on the Agenda AFTER the vote? It sounds like the Agenda got rearranged.

All 3 items passed. All three are meaningless, especially the vote against Israel. The next No Kings event is June 14th. The same comrades will be there pretending Trump is a king.

From media reports half of the attendees didn’t live in Bloomington Township and couldn’t vote. Evidently they had time to waste.

  1. We organized and voted Down the anti Israel garbage in Capital Township. Believe me. Here we see Muslims infiltrate every level. This is the second year in Springfield Illinois they have organized to try and pass a totally irrelevant matter to Township policy. But what I enjoy is it weeds out the WACKOS for me!! Look at the Bright 🌞🌞 side.

  2. I spent the overwhelming majority of my speech complaining about Saudi Arabia, the beheading capital of the world, but you’re so antisemitic you thought the whole evening was about apartheid Israel.

      1. And I say again…..Islam is the most dangerous threat to Western JudeoChristian Culture there is! Palestine needs eliminated so Israel can safely live in Judea. And we, Americans, better start getting rid of the Islamist here.

        1. So, you believe in genocide. Apparently American Evangelical Nationalistic Christianity is the most dangerous threat to the world. There are 4.5 million Muslims in the United States. There are over 2 billion Muslims worldwide. Ignorance, stupidity and lack of humanity is a mark of people who are willing to eliminate a population they refuse to understand. You’d fit right in with NAZI Germany.

    1. Zach – Do you agree, we should not allow Iran to transfer weapons to Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other of its satellite terrorists? They have launched tens of thousands of Iranian rockets into Israel since 2001.

Iran and Hamas don’t care about having a Palestinian country until they eliminate all Israelis. (Ask Bill Clinton) That seems very “apartheidish” to me. Iran murdered an estimated 40,000 of its own unarmed citizens – seems like a dictatorship that is the worst violator of human rights in the world to me.

As far as your speech about Saudi Arabia and beheading – I agree people have a right to have their own head but they also shouldn’t have to make sure they’re 3 minutes from a bomb shelter 24/7 either.

    2. Haha hilarious he calls you antisemitic, but then trots out the apartheid Isreal nonsense. OMG cOLonIAlISm! Ignore the fact he lives in a country and enjoys freedoms that exclusively exist because of glorious colonialism from Christian Western nations.

Maybe we need to bring colonialism to Saudi Arabia and they might finally stop beheading people (as if beheading is somehow a worse form of capital punishment than other types).

  3. There should have been a viewers warning to your readers that they may not want to look directly at that picture of the city council members! As the great Rodney Dangerfield once said, “now I know why tigers eat their young!) JK

  4. Hahaha 110 people show up, and somehow this quote is thought to be remotely true:

‘So that when we do pick our United States representatives and we do pick our United States senators that absolutely decide this, they will know unequivocally what tens of thousands of Bloomingtonians thought about this question,” Gittrich said.”

    Dumb. Stunning. Brave.

    1. I’d suggest we stop supporting Europe and particularly Ukraine….. They bring very little to our table. Europe has sold out to socialism and Islam and Ukraine is just one short guy syndrome against another.
Israel is our one ally in the most anti Western area in the world! Islam is our biggest enemy….

    2. Diane soooo funny and apropos…. BYE…..That’s exactly what Curly Bill (Powers Booth) said to the Earps as they left Tombstone…..I loved how he said it…..Byyye

  5. Whats so wrong about not wanting to provide arms to israel? Arent we america first? Seems like that money could go towards american schools and hospitals first and let the strong nation state of israel take on its own bullies

      1. our*

I’m still not seeing where that means we need to give them all this money. Its just a lot of money Diane. We have so many infrastructural needs here just in bloomington let alone the country.

We have allies all over the globe we dont send multiple billions a year to

          1. Sure, we can trim down on those too.

But this was specifically talking about the 3.8 billion we send specifically to israel. What aboutism doesnt work here

  6. Are they not capable of self sufficiency to continue those things without our 3.8billion a year?

Also their intel is pretty one note lol. Iran has been “weeks away from a nuke” for about 40 years now

  7. Yeah they took out an 80+ yr old man in his home with his family. He wasnt exactly hiding.

I wouldnt really brag about “finding him” if i were them

  8. I see, not open to discussion. Didnt realize this was just another safe space! just as bad as the kids! 🤣

  9. My site my rules. This sure is local, you don’t know anymore about the Middle East than any other local. Worthless “discussion”

  10. Let’s see do I want to support those that help and support our great country or do I want to let the “death to Israel and death to America” country’s continue to expand their hateful actions. I think that I will stick with my Christian brothers and sisters. Amen

    1. I cant imagine why some of these countries might have a problem with our actions in their countries.

Seems like we’re allowed to chant death to their countries but its super evil and bad when they say it back? got it

    2. Resident when have you ever heard Americans chant death to a country? Now if you’re referring to Palestine, number one it’s not a country and number two it’s gotta go for there to be peace in the ME. Other Arab nations don’t even want Palestinians, they’re just trouble, constantly whining about something.

      1. Didnt our president state he was going to wipe out the entirety of iran if he didnt get his way?

Beyond that THIS comment section includes calls to eliminate a country.

Also its so weird how every map in history shows palestine pre 1940s. Pretty weird how they all must have just had that wrong

I don’t think bombing the living hell out of a country (targeting their childrens schools and infrastructure in particular) helps free the actual people of Iran at all. The only iranians that actually want that to happen is Diaspora living in america…

    3. Palestine was the name the Romans used to eradicate the Jews after their defeat in 134EC. They named Judea and Sumatra Palestine out of spite. The British, after WWI carried on with this as they re-drew the Middle Eastern boundaries.

      1. Israel is the name the british used after WW2. Not seeing much of a difference in reasoning here.

Also doesnt really change the fact that whether or not your version of history recognizes a nation called palestine, it has to recognize *palestinians* that live there. “a nation without people” was straight up a lie

          1. Sorry i thought we were talking about actual history not spiritual texts

I can understand your confusion on the topic then!

            1. Resident that “spiritual text” is the history of all this, of what this is, a religious war. Go to the root of the tree, when Abraham throws our Ishmael and God promises Ishmael decendents as numerous as the stars in the sky, but that they’d never know peace. A half millennia after Christ died a demented paedophile managed to form a cult that is called Islam and is the biggest threat to Western JudeoChristian Culture and Values.

    4. Palestinians are not….legitimate people. The word is derived from Philistine, A term used in ancient times to mean foreigner. Arabs from many tribes and nation make what they now call Palestinians.

      1. Bye, clueless comments get deleted. Yes I edited you out of existence. Permanently!

  11. The core issue is not the data centers themselves. These facilities can be developed safely, cleanly, transparently, and profitably using local labor. The real concern lies in governments overstepping their role by making business and investment decisions that should be left to the private sector.
There is little to no transparency surrounding these projects, which fuels public distrust. Citizens remain skeptical due to a long history of government actions and policies that have led to significant harm or waste, including contaminated drinking water, exposure to forever chemicals linked to cancer, and billions in taxpayer dollars spent on inefficient wind and solar projects. For decades, the closure of coal plants and the lack of new nuclear facilities have driven up energy costs. Now, in response to the demands of AI and data centers, new power plants—including nuclear facilities and even temporary diesel generators, often criticized as highly polluting—are suddenly being fast-tracked with little apparent environmental scrutiny.
This inconsistency has left many residents frustrated. While politicians appear responsive when financial incentives align with these projects, ordinary citizens see few direct benefits. Promises of “jobs” and vague future gains have been made before, yet residents often feel the returns go elsewhere—such as funding for other priorities—while political insiders benefit substantially. In Illinois, for example, figures like former Speaker Madigan and Governor Pritzker have faced ongoing scrutiny regarding their financial dealings, reinforcing perceptions that connected individuals profit while average taxpayers bear the costs without meaningful upside.
Greater transparency, accountability, and a clearer demonstration of direct public benefit are essential to rebuilding trust in these large-scale initiatives.
