Below is a picture of the portable Stop Lights I mentioned in this story: https://blnnews.com/2026/06/06/this-is-why-bloomington-must-opt-people-out-of-aggregation/

.
This is Ireland Grove Rd by The Grove.
They say “rental” on them. I didn’t know stop lights could be rented!
Note: No cars are coming from the opposite direction. It would be easy to drive around the cones that really aren’t needed out that far. Bloomington doesn’t think drivers are smart enough to go around cones when nobody is coming from the other direction. As stated in the linked story above, traffic is dramatically less since Benjamin and Cornerstone schools are out for the summer.
Maybe Bloomington is right since some drivers just ignore emergency vehicles. Many also don’t understand the concept of yield and merge either. Southbound on Towanda-Barnes turning west on Ireland Grove can be a racetrack. Some drivers think going fast and not yielding to traffic already on the road is necessary.
You can see in the pic where the road was patched on the far right side close to the bridge.
The lights are solar powered. Also note, one guy is working on the left side of the bridge. The picture was taken at 8:35 am.
I’m surprised the stop light from the other direction is still working since the solar panel is in the shade.

The other day I saw someone go thru a blinking red light @ 51 & Veterans Pkwy without slowing down, so any extra safety precautions still aren’t enough
Could it be this traffic light is placed there because there are no street lights?
