Right vrs Left

The GOP is awful at messaging and almost completely unwilling. to say what they mean, maybe because their words are consistently twisted by the left for political gain.  An actual conversation between the 2 sides is now impossible.  The left will always have a message, even if they have to make it up.  Example:  The GOP House has passed at least 4 bills to reform healthcare that doesn’t involve government running the entire healthcare industry.  But the message we hear is the GOP will repeal ObamaCare and take us back to the days when healthcare was unavailable.  We also hear:  Republicans hate poor people, GOP has a war on Women, Paul Ryan wants to end medicare, the GOP is throwing granny off a cliff, the GOP wants to take away your healthcare, the GOP wants to ban birth control, etc etc – get the picture?  How can anybody believe Republicans want to win elections, but yet hate everybody but the rich?  Common sense people – there aren’t enough rich!

We The People are sick of 2 things:

  • politicians that lie
  • politicians who can’t speak the truth

Both apply to BOTH sides of the aisle.

How did we get here?  It’s really easy to answer.  Decades ago the Communists (YES I said Communists) made a plan for Psychological War on America.  They determined they could never win a war, so they opted for destroying the country from the inside.  Here’s some of the goals they came up with:

  • Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength
  • Provide American aid to all nations regardless of communist domination
  • Grant recognition of Red China plus admission of Red China to the UN
  • Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind
  • Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party
  • Capture one or both of the political parties in the Untied States *
  • Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights
  • Get control of the schools.  Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current communist propaganda.  Soften the curriculum.  Get control of teacher’s associations.  Put the party line in textbooks.
  • Infiltrate the press.  Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
  • Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
  • Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV
  • Present homo-sexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal”, natural, healthy
  • Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state”
  • Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a world-wide basis
  • Discredit the American founding fathers.  Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man”
  • Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics etc
  • Infiltrate and gain control of more unions
  • Infiltrate and gain control of big business
  • Discredit the family as an institution.  Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
  • Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents
  • Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government

The list is well-known, this is only part of it.  It is available in MANY reports by Congressional hearings and books by ex-communists.  Many of these items should sound very familiar.  Am I saying we have been infiltrated by communists?  “More likely is that many well-meaning citizens have become involved in pushing forward the Communist program without realizing it.” (quote from “The Naked Communist” by W. Cleon Skousen)

Let’s go back to John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address.  He was once an icon of the Democratic Party, today he isn’t mentioned very often.  Can you imagine a Democrat today saying “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”?

But there was much more to his speech that won’t be heard today:

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe — the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility — I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it. And the glow from that fire can truly light the world.

Amazing how much the Democratic Party has changed since the 60’s.  The entire speech can be found on the Internet.  The same thing could be done with Ronald Reagan’s speeches, much of which you may hear Republicans quote today, but seldom use as a guide for legislation.

Since discrediting the Founder’s and the Constitution is pretty common today (one of the above goals), maybe we should see what one of them had to say about America:

However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.

GEORGE WASHINGTON, Farewell Address, Sept. 17, 1796

Well said Mr. President.  Maybe we need to know what else they said, they may not be so out-of-date.  Maybe their original words should be taught again.  Maybe lawyers should be taught the Constitution, the Federalist papers, and the Founder’s writings instead of case law.  Maybe we need a Reset button.
