This has NOTHING to do with sequestration!

This does not mean the airport will close.  Planes can takeoff and land just fine with nobody in the tower.

See Alderman candidate for the Bloomington City Council – Kevin Lower.  He is a pilot and knows the real facts.  The FAA has wanted to save money on small airports for at least 15 years.  They can blame sequestration, it was very convenient.

Of course the Pantagraph has a totally different slant, they are buying budget cuts.  The tower is contract labor, if they can find funding it’s easy to keep open, but not necessary for operation.
