FOR FAR TOO LONG THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA HAS SMUGLY ASSUMED THEY HAD ALL PRINT AND BROADCAST NEWS SEWN UP NEATLY IN THEIR LEFTY POCKETS.
But for the past week rumor that the Koch brothers are taking a long look at buying Tribune Company has spread like wild fire in a pine-beetle ravaged forest.
Media Matters Joe Strupp writes that the scary idea of the brothers buying Tribune is:
…sparking concerns from newspaper staff members that attempts to influence the editorial process in favor of their far-right political views may follow.
Among those concerned is Clarence Page, a top Chicago Tribune columnist, who said he would oppose a takeover of the paper by David and Charles Koch because of “the fact that they seem to be coming in upfront with the idea of using a major news media as a vehicle for their political voice.
Of course, Joe ignores the obvious, that for several decades the Progressives have partied on at all the various news outlets and gleefully ignored Walter Williams “Journalist’s Creed” while churning out lefty op-eds and screeds and calling it news. Gone is the adage the good reporter must hold everyone’s feet to the fire: the new mantra is “we the enlightened” will give the ignorant fly-over country folks the REAL story. The story that tells the truth about the racism and blight of America.

Nope. Tribune Co. is definitely no small potatoes.
Since the presidential election in November 2012, I and other pundits have been positing the only way to right the course of our nation was to take back media/entertainment and education. For over 100 years, since President Wilson and John Dewey, Progressives have made inroads into capturing every facet of public education, thus assuring that subsequent generations of Americans would be indoctrinated with a largely Socialist worldview.
Media has not been far behind in their subliminal and overt messages of Leftist dogma. But Conservatives are waking up and realizing we must reclaim our culture. If America is to remain the Shining City on a Hill, she must once again be a country of people dedicated to the revitalization of her Constitution and precepts of personal responsibility.
Joe Strupp continues in his fear-mongering article:
The Kochs are major funders of the American conservative movement, funneling tens of millions of dollars every year to build a right-wing infrastructure geared toward reducing the size and impact of government.
He writes that as if it’s a bad thing! Odd, one of the chief functions of the Constitution is to rein in government. One would think Mr. Strupp hadn’t studied the Constitution and our First Principles.
Strupp has, however, queried the frantic staffers and stringers:
According to those staffers, such concerns are rampant at the papers. “Nobody I know in the newsroom would find it a happy event to have the Koch brothers owning the paper,” said one longtime Chicago Tribune staffer, who suggested that the purpose of the takeover is so that the brothers can use the publications to “promulgate their political views.”
“I haven’t heard anyone here who has welcomed the idea of the Koch brothers… the Koch brothers, that scares people,” added an LA Times scribe.
“I think we all have concerns when you think an owner might try to influence editorial content,” explained Angela Kuhl, Newspaper Guild unit chair at The Baltimore Sun. “That is sort of contrary to what the newspapering business should be about, free press. You don’t necessarily want owners and publishers dictating content.”
“Of all the prospects that are out there,” explained one Times reporter, “the Koch Brothers are at the bottom of the list.”
So it’s apparent…writers in Trib organizations across the country are awash in panic: the Koch brothers are going on a shopping spree and the end result might just be more real and objective reporting.
In her August 2010 New Yorker article, “COVERT OPERATIONS The billionaire brothers who are waging a war against Obama,” Jane Mayer wrote:
The Kochs are longtime libertarians who believe in drastically lower personal and corporate taxes, minimal social services for the needy, and much less oversight of industry—especially environmental regulation.
Mayer also noted that David Koch founded Americans for Prosperity in 2004–and like Strupp alludes to the group as almost sinister.
But while Joe Strupp, Jane Mayer, and others in MSM frantically bite their nails and wash back blood pressure meds with martinis shaken and stirred, patriots across the nation are beginning to smile.
Charles and David Koch may be just what America needs right now: unabashed Conservatives with stout minds and big bankrolls to help wrest the information flow from the hands of the Left. Charles and David…who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Sure hope Charles and David Koch can get this done!
It would be like a breath of fresh air…especially for Illinois!!!
