Several people have asked me why the Heartland turbine was down again after being down for about 2 months. This time it isn’t broke. One thing Heartland does well is respond to requests for information. It is refreshing that it least some part of local government isn’t trying to keep citizens in the dark. Thanks goes to Rob Widmer.
I received the following response to my question:
The turbine was shut down approximately 12 hours over two days (November 14 and 15). This down time was necessary to perform the 1.5 year maintenance service on the turbine. The work needed to be done with power flowing in the turbine system so it could not have been done when the turbine previously was not operating.
