Just heard some local guys talking about the low information Congressman Adam Kinzinger and the low information columnist at the Pantagraph-Bill Flick.

Flick was recounting Kinzinger’s appearance on ABC’s This week in his Sunday column.  The panelists had a history “Jeopardy” like segment where the question was “Which US President gave the first State of the Union address?”

Kinzinger didn’t know, but guessed Abraham Lincoln.  Flick never stated the obvious fact:

Article II Section 3 of the US Constitution:  He (President) shall from time to time give to the Congress Information on the State of the Union, . . .

The answer was George Washington, as our first President he actually followed the Constitution.

It’s not surprising that a columnist for the Pantagraph has no clue what’s in the Constitution.

It’s disastrous for the country when US Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who is also a veteran, doesn’t know it either.

Evidently the Constitution really is immaterial.
