Wow! What Bloomington needs is 7 new Alderman!

by:  Diane Benjamin

Another Letter to the Editor today supporting Modified Wards.  Has the writer ever been to a Council meeting?

Evidently not!   SEVEN alderman do nothing but lap up anything David Hales says, ditto with any ideas by Mayor Renner.  I’m surprised they don’t have a foot kissing session before every meeting.  Most of them NEVER put forward an intelligent question or comment other than praising the work already done by City employees.

The Modified Ward discussion has now turned to Bloomington’s Water supply.  Doesn’t Bloomington still have a Water Department?  Aren’t these employees being paid to make sure Bloomington has water?  Evidently Bloomington needs At-Large Alderman because they aren’t capable of making recommendations and studying the issues!   Thanks for demeaning the hard-working employees of the Water Department.  The writer thinks Bloomington needs to crown 3 Water gurus in the form of At-Large Aldermen because they aren’t capable.

The Seven potted plants don’t do a lot now.  Elevating 3 of them is going to get a well dug west of town?

Somebody contact the Daily Show.  Great comedy right here in Bloomington!

Modified Wards is nothing more than centralizing power and getting rid of one alderman.  Start lining up your friends and neighbors to vote in March!
