Defeat Dickie – campaign starts now

by:  Diane Benjamin

Dick Durbin has been in the US Senate since 1997.  If you believe politicians need to be changed often (term limits) because they lose touch with voters, this is your year to prove it.  Until the November election I will be giving you reasons why it’s time for Dick to retire.

In September 2012, Secretary of State John Kerry signed the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty on behalf of the United States.  This Treaty would have handed the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution over to the United Nations.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) introduced an amendment that would prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty in order to uphold the Second Amendment. His amendment passed on a 53-46 vote.   Dick Durbin was one of the 46 votes against this amendment.

The Constitution is becoming irrelevant thanks to elected people like Dick Durbin.  To restore the country as founded, Dick Durbin must go.

  1. I agree Durbin needs to be defeated, but I’m less than thrilled with Oberwies and find it hard to believe he is the man to do it. I’m still not over Truax’s loss on Tuesday. He was a class act that would have been a fresh face in Washington. It’s people like Oberwies who give Republicans a bad name. I’ll vote for him, but I’m not sure I’ll campaign for him. With Truax I not only voted for him, I pulled out all the stops to get him elected. I’m sorry he lost.

  2. It really amazes me though how some of the politicians who have been so blatant in their attacks against our Constitution, American Heritage and Liberties like Durbin keep getting re-elected!
