Rob Fazzini resigned from the Bloomington City Council effective September 3rd. He resigned to be President of Paradign BioAviation, a firm that wanted both Normal and Bloomington to pay them to haul off their garbage. By now you know a joint Council session dashed all hopes of this project coming together here.
What has been lost in the media is what it cost you for a sitting alderman to use his influence to ingratiate himself to the City of Bloomington leaders – WHILE on the Council. Below is just one of the many emails I have received under the Freedom of Information Act showing Fazzini actively working with people paid by the City of Bloomington. I have many more emails going back months, including ones with Mayor Renner.
How many hours did David Hales waste on this project? Attorney Jeff Jurgens is mentioned in many emails, and I have some he wrote. How many hours was the City billed for the work Jurgens did on this fiasco?
Here’s the kicker: None of this is illegal in Illinois. Fazzini didn’t vote on anything pertaining to Paradigm. It’s perfectly legal for him to get the ducks all lined up before resigning. It’s even legal for him to cost YOU money to do it.
Congrats taxpayers!

Hopefully Fazzini will pay big time as this venture fizzles out.
