These three Aldermen are going to hold a budget discussion on January 27th. http://www.cityblm.org/index.aspx?page=17&recordid=3139
(Maybe they read BlnNews, even though publicly they deny it)
Remember last year? Did you attend one of these discussion and make your voice heard? Did you say “RAISE MY TAXES”? If that’s what you said, you got exactly what you wanted. (Yes, there are some misguided people who think life revolves around government and said Yes.)
Karen Schmidt voted for all three tax increases: Motor Fuel Tax, Utilities Tax, Amusement Tax
Scott Black voted for all three tax increases: Motor Fuel Tax, Utilities Tax, Amusement Tax
David Sage vote for the Utilities Tax – the one that hurts the poor the most. It taxes: Gas, Water, Telecommunication, Electric, and Municipal Gas Use Tax.
Details here: http://blnnews.com/2014/07/28/dont-forget-who-raised-your-taxes/
Will it matter this year if you show up and demand spending be cut and NO tax increases? It certainly won’t matter if DON’T show up!
This Townhall will either:
- Force them to represent you instead of rubber stamping the Renner spending agenda
or
- Make it easier to defeat Schmidt in April. Black isn’t up for election, and no citizens cared enough to run against Sage. Evidently Ward 2 citizens have plenty of money for more tax increases.
Put January 27th on your calendar now, 6:00-8:00.
