One of these days the raw sewage will be flowing on the downtown streets because of the age and condition of those sewers. Connect Transit buses will not be on time because they are stuck in a sink hole.
Oh boy the whiner school districts need their share too. Someone send them some cheese too.
I must give Alton an applause for calling Hales on incompetence.
What it is going to take is removing home rule and ousting some council members up for re-election along with the mayor followed by terminating Hales and his assistants….bye bye.
I guess that complacency breeds this kind of crap. as LONG as citizens (of this CITY) put up with mediocre service, representation, resources, etc, they’ll get it. Cases in point-There are NO great eating places in town (i.e.: 5 star or “destination restaurants”) , the service at the local-read Bloomington Post Office is about the worst in the nation-what? 20-30 minutes wait time? and the representation by the mayor/manager and council is just plain atrocious!! About the ONLY great thing about living here is the SOIL, of which the powers that be want to destroy it with hotels, arenas, jails, etc. I used to have an elderly neighbor who bragged that she got to Peoria once! Wonder what she’d do in Munich? Quality of life is observation and being able to ENJOY it, not suffer through it and pay out the —-* for it!
