The Bloomington Public School District 87 Board of Education will be filling a vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. John Dirks effective December 29, 2015. Persons interested in the position should send a letter expressing their interest along with a résumé and an overview of why they believe they can be an effective School Board Member. Letters addressed to the Board Secretary will be accepted in the Board offices at 300 East Monroe Street, Bloomington through January 19, 2016. Candidates must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of District 87, a registered voter, be neither a school trustee nor a school treasurer; and not be a child sex offender as defined in State law.
The Bloomington Board of Education will conduct interviews with qualified candidates after the January 19, 2016, deadline and will seat the new Member at its February 10, 2016, meeting.
