Gabriella Calhoun vrs Chicago

The city of Bloomington mouthpiece (Pantagraph) announced the City is settling this case for $120,000. They got off lucky.

In case you forgot, Gabriella Calhoun is the young lady from the Denny’s incident that happened in 2013.

Her case also led to the discovery of racists comments made by Sgt Shumaker that had been buried by the City.  Sgt Shumaker wasn’t fired, he just got a letter in his file that will disappear in 5 years if no further incidents take place.

Not in agreement here…Calhoun should have been in jail…too many times folks think they can do what they want when they want…may work well in some situations….too many of were raise to do what the police ask us to do, when they ask…course we do not have the chip on our shoulder that Ms Calhoun and others have…would not want to be a policeman today…my hat is off to them…

  2. “They got off lucky” well maybe not so lucky seeing how the city shelled out $130,000 in attorney fees. Likely higher insurance rates now to. So much for NOIT for what it’s worth I guess. I saw where the local mouthpiece didn’t open up the article for comments.

  3. The NY Times suggests that Rahm should resign. Lol, that will never happen! Any suggestion that Renner should resign too, another lol. However that would be a beautiful day! Then what, pro-tem Schmidt? Geez!
