Only supporters are welcome:

The Trump haters will be there demanding laws be ignored.

I wonder why illegals and those who have over-stayed their visas want to stay in a country where laws don’t matter?.

  1. What a joke. BLM claims the 12/18 Meeting is a community discussion. There will be no discussion just demands. The mayor and Council are pandering to a group of protesters. These groups need to be bused to Washington, DC to make their case to the US Congress. Obama’s executive order provided false hope to the “dreamers.” If anyone was paying attention, the executive order has an expiration date. Miss the date and there are consequences. Technically, these illegal immigrants are invaders and should be dealt with accordingly. Or, they need to go through the established immigration process. Meanwhile, push for reform based on the model put forth by the US government. Congress makes laws, executive branch enforces the laws, judicial interprets the laws. These clowns, Council included, need to go back to school.

    1. One more thing. The protesters’ argument is based on the inscription found on the Statue of Liberty. That statement is not the law of the land. My in-laws came through Ellis Island after their homeland was ravaged by the Nazis during WWII. They followed the laws. They had a sponsor and a job before they left everyone and everything behind. If they contracted an illness while on the ship, they would have been turned away—possibly separated. Their accent was Germanic. They did not always feel welcomed. They feared the police after having to deal with the German SS. I don’t want to hear any sob stories.

      1. This whole thing makes me so mad. There have been many attempts during the past several decades to provide opportunities for illegals to move through a process. Total amnesty was the only thing off the table, as it should be. None of the proposals were good enough.

  2. “Only supporters welcome”. I trust you will be encouraging the Tea Party to invite Liberals and Black Lives Matter members? Naw. I have seen your accusations against the McLean Party GOP. Only I imagine that you wearing a Darth Vader mask and using a voice modular while you dictate it. Don’t forget to take care of the thermo exhaust port in the Death Star.

    1. Hey conscious This isn’t a tea party meeting. It’s a City Council meeting. It’s not for you or the league of Women Voters only. It’s for citizens and tax payers. And maybe if these groups that talk about diversity, inclusion and safe would practice what they preach we wouldn’t be at war with each other. And if you are so intelligent and proud of your views use your real name!

      1. Angela, what is the purpose of challenging me to use my real name? You wanting to do something to me or try and have someone flame me online? Dig up some dirt? Please.

You have trouble understanding that if you want to be included in something, you have to have similar views. These groups like BLM and League of Women’s Voters are trying to get supporters to show up. You must know you and your supporters are out numbered so you suggest the groups you don’t agree with should include you? You are right! Brilliant! You don’t support their views yet you seem angry they don’t include you? You want to be treated equal but you don’t see them as equal. Yeah, using your real name has really helped you stand out intelligence wise.

Diane, I wasn’t talking about a local Tea Party. I was referring to ANY Tea Party gathering. I have yet to see or hear a meeting invite going to Black Lives Matter or RINOs.

  3. I guess since this law doesn’t matter, the no gun zone law will not be enforced at the BCPA. I’m pretty sure that if laws do not apply for some they do not apply for anyone. If the Police aren’t allowed to check Citizenship they probably aren’t allowed to check for illegal weapons either. The Council really can’t have it both ways can they?

  4. What a truly disgusting display of ignorance of the law. I’m so glad I’m not in McLean county or Bloomington.
Immigrants welcome; illegals get out and stay out. DACA will cost us 26 billion dollars over the next 10 years.
and, by the way, ALL lives matter!!!

  5. Mike Matejka’s inclusive of all is a lie. I was banned from NIOT and the only item I posted on the page was a simple question. “Where can I drop books off at.” Banned. Does not seem inclusive to me.

  6. I for one care about law , order and justice .. I do know of a few who are trying to stay , but not a citizen but are working to do so , who have kin who have become a citizen . my issue is not with them ,, and that said , my issue is some in the law enforcement have been asked to send data on any illegal who they encounter while doing they daily job , be it traffic , criminal arrest , etc.. this does not mean auto kick out or prison . circumstances are what factors into that . but to ignore circumstances , laws and a thing that may then delete federal funds for city bills and things due to feeling a certain way over a mater .. with little true fact or basis but fear mongering ,, unreal . liberals want gun owners scrutinized and quadruple checked , but yet scream for illegal unveted folk to enter and just ignore any laws . .how does that makes perfect sense ..,

    1. The protesters are demanding a municipality create a “protected group status” which is not the responsibility of a municipality. I repeat—they all need to go back to school to study history and civics. Maybe they can sponsor one of the families living in fear.

  7. Would the immigrant flow from south of the border have anything to do with the recent increase in opiod deaths? No, the immigrants are all just looking for a better life to be provided for them by us, free of charge. No assimilation needed.

    1. Rich, democracy works best when all parties are well informed and law abiding. Immigration is a Federal issue and is to be handled at the Federal level. Those not happy with current Federal immigration law need to bring their issue to Washington DC.
