If you call the town of normal and ask they will say it cost nothing. The. Magical tax Santa dropped off a gift bag of money. There was enough for Koos and his spend happy side kick to have a holiday extravaganza for their over paid staff, while on the clock of course. (Nothing like being paid to go to a party!) They still had enough left to shower themselves with gift cards and private dinners with other elites. Then they realized they had spent all that Santa had delivered. Not to worry, a quick call to Kevin, Kathleen and Chemberly, With Koos leading the way, they got in the Christmas spirit and decided they would just lie to us all and raise property taxes. Now they have plenty of free money! By now Diane you should know there are no costs in government everything is free, silly question.
I’m confused. You want to know how much each city spent on Christmas decorations. Why? I bet anything if they had no Christmas decorations you’d be screaming about how each city was involved in a insidious, sinister war against Christmas and Christianity. You can’t have it both ways.
I guess you don’t believe the private businesses decorating their own windows is good enough. Why would anybody want tax dollars spent on temporary decorations?
I can’t think of a city or town in this country or in Europe that doesn’t put up Christmas decorations. None. You must be one of these Grinchs who hate the two towns you write about on this blog. They lose no matter what they do or don’t do. You’re basing this on a couple of poor quality cell phone photos. I still don’t get you point, most towns and cities reuse decorations year to year. If Bloomington and Normal did not put up decorations, you’d be on here crying about how they’re part of the war against Christmas. You can’t have it both ways
I am amazed at the massive traffic shown on the streets and sidewalks when these pictures were taken. No doubt it is a great use (not) of taxpayer money for these displays.

Hey. He’s using my “name.”
Lots of “Fedup” people?
More every day……I sure hope!
Pretty sure the expression “feed up” fits the pigs at the Normal Town Council trough.

Duh, using taxpayer money is their career.
A few in the private sector, and many in government have Christmas every payday.
