Stay off the cliff

How is quarantine going?

For many, probably not well.  Many lives have been upended because of a virus.  No one can accurately predict the future or say how long this will last.  No one knows how bad this can get or how quickly it will pass.

We do know close to 99% of people who get it will recover.

Around 20% might need medical intervention.  That is why we are supposed to stay home.  The infection rate must go down to keep from overwhelming medical professionals.

Are we getting accurate information?  No.  Some sick people aren’t being being tested because they aren’t that sick.  Likely there are many more cases that aren’t being reported.

You must keep in mind we have been through worse.

655,000 people died during the Civil war

116,516 people died during WWI

405,399 people died during WWII

Nobody knows how many people died from Spanish Flu from 1918-1920.  It could be as high as 100,000,000

The swine flu in 2009 has estimates of up to 575,000 people dying.

The World Health Organization claims 250,000 to 500,000 people die of seasonal flu annually.

Right now COVID 19 is nowhere near these numbers.

Breath.  We aren’t behind the Iron Curtain where cowering people ratted out their friends and neighbors to government.  If you have cable news on all day, shut it off.  Don’t read every news report, most aren’t accurate.

We will survive and hopefully be better than before.

If you’re feeling on edge, concerned, or downright panicked over the Coronavirus pandemic, you are not alone. Uncertainty can lead to fear, which is powerful. So is panic. But hope can be contagious, too.

My hope comes from God, he never fails.  Start with  Matthew 6:25-27:

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, (or if you will run out of toilet paper) … Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Ask God for peace, he will deliver.

Back away from the cliff.

Reach out if you need help,

Diane

  1. Reach out to others by phone. We’re not meant to live in isolation.
Go outside and enjoy the birds of the air

  2. Diane, how refreshing to have someone bring the Lord into our crisis as well as display a common sense attitude something missing among the masses today. Thank you

  3. Great words of wisdom. I’ll pass this along to my buddies at our every Sunday night poker game. Yeah there’s about twelve of us players, two tables. Been doin’ this so long not even our wives can call it off let alone Jelly Belly Pricksger……………..FREEDOM ! ! !

  4. Hope the good ole’ boys down at the union hall remember that the demonrat governors of California, New York, and Illinois started this messy big brother Event 201/Corona Balona economic shutdown. This is going to hurt EVERYbody and most certainly your pensions,,,suck-a’s. Might want to len more middle of the road come next election time rather than the looney left.

  5. I am tired of dealing with idiots who LOVE a crisis.

I am tired of dealing with idiots who LOVE to see the negative side of everything.

I am tired of dealing with idiots who LOVE to be led like sheep by the mainstream media.

I am tired of dealing with idiots who LOVE the thought of our freedoms going away.

I am tired of dealing with idiots who LOVE to think only about themselves.

I am tired of dealing with idiots who LOVE to tell me how afraid I should be.

Enough is enough….get a life….and get on with it and leave me out…. it’s a simple treatable virus not the Zombie Apocalypse.

    1. I agree with your sentiment about those you call idiots. However, the virus is not treatable. Unlike bacterial infections, no viral infection is treatable, the symptoms can only be managed. This strain of the virus is new. No one is immune, yet. There is no vaccine, yet. Following the CDC and Health Department recommendations to prevent the spread, washing hands and staying home when sick, is the best prevention. Basically, common sense!

      1. Trouble2

jFrom the article you posted: “Due to the increase in numbers, New York is set to launch a clinical trial for an experimental drug treatment Tuesday, March 24”

The key words are “set to lauch a clinical trial.” This not the same as having treatment available. Notice in my post, I used the word, “yet.” I am not watching TV. I am a medical professional with years of experience with infectious deseases.

        Do try to be nice…

  6. VERY WELL PUT! I was mega depressed on Friday. Felt this would never end! Worried about friends and family. You put it into perspective !

  7. For everyone who has not turned off their TV and taken it to the road (I am completely serious)

I would bet you a lot of money that the mainstream media has not reported this?

Did anyone see this story on TV or radio?

But they did report this story:

“Fish tank additive may treat coronavirus.”

    https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/mar/24/blog-posting/drinking-chloroquine-fish-tank-cleaner-wont-stop-c/

      1. Because it will definitely be President Trump’s fault if you are retarded enough to drink fish tank cleaner.

Just ask the traitors in the mainstream media?
