Adios Jenn

By: Diane Benjamin

Jenn has been marginalized since all her candidates lost last April. She is now persona non grata among her former base. Maybe she bought a house outside her ward on purpose!

Unwilling to believe the American dream is alive and well for those who choose to reach for it, Jenn couldn’t go away quietly without take shots at her adopted country. I found it hilarious she quoted Cesar Chavez, another activist. Unlike former illegal Jenn, he knew illegal immigration made his organizing work in California more difficult. If citizens went on strike, farmers just brought in illegals to do the job.

Nice Jenn, did you know that?

Carrillo started her own blog:

https://mujerebelde.wordpress.com/2021/07/19/announcement/

That is her resignation letter and inequity calls for the downtrodden. Somebody really needs to send her stories of people born dirt poor who elevated themselves through hard work and determination. People who own nice things likely worked hard to get them, they didn’t lobby government for handouts.

Government doesn’t exist to create equity Jenn. Equal opportunity yes, equal results no. Your redistribution of wealth plans have never worked anywhere. If you had kids you would know buying them a toy to shut them up means they expect more toys, and more toys, and more toys. Crybabies don’t survive the real world.

Housing is a mess because government interfered, some at your request Jenn. Not paying rent for over a year wasn’t companionate, it wrecked the rental housing market. It won’t be fixed anytime soon. Screw with free markets and that market gets screwed.

Pack up your Marxist bag of divisions. You pronouns and rabblerousing won’t be missed.

If you ever figure out you live in the greatest country on earth we can talk.

  1. Out of 2 major posts on her resignation, all cheered that she was resigning. Her fan base (keyboard warriors) are few and in between. Perhaps we can put someone on the council that cares about important things like roads, bridges and sewers and not just social justice issues. What did Jenn contribute? Will she/they write in their new blog about all she/they contributed? Let me help. It is simple. Nothing.

    1. not gonna happen. The newly appointed council person will most like be (ironically) Karen Schmidt. After failing downtown so miserably for 19 YEARS as an alderman , and being voted out of office , naturally that makes Karen a ‘first choice’ to fill the seat ! the very definition of …😂

      1. It’s the BN way. It has been going on forever and will continue to be standard operating procedure

  2. Diane I don’t think most of these so called activists give a damn about the downtrodden. Activism is their job, their ‘business’, a way to appear relevant…..and a way to enrich themselves if they’re good enough. Do we really think Charlie Rangle or Maxine Waters or the so called ‘squad’ are trying to lift up their constituents? I don’t. Maybe I’m too cynical.

  3. I think it’s hilarious that she wants to be a blogger…just like you when she grows up. You’ve been quite the inspiration for her, Diane.

  4. It’s ironic how Jenn thinks this country is so awful when she took the opportunity to advance from tenant to landlord (homeowner). Jenn, do you realize this is what’s called the American Dream? Would you have had this opportunity in your beloved Mexico Jenn? Only in The Land of The Free is this opportunity available to everybody who wants it bad enough to work for it! Enjoy your new piece of America Jenn!

  5. Hey Craybill, there are a lot of homes outside of your district for sale maybe you could go buy one and move, please!

  6. In typical SJW form, Jenn is great behind the bullhorn, throwing jabs, stirring up controversy, organizing rallies, taunting and name-calling, but when it comes to actually doing the work of a City Councilperson, she falls flat on her face. Yes, the citizens figured it out and she quickly showed her true colors. However, I don’t think Jenn left because rational citizens pointed out her crazy antics and abysmal record on the Council; rather, she left because she wasn’t getting her way. If you’re accustomed to rabble-rousing in order to get your way and suddenly find that you must act civilly with those you disagree with, engage citizens of all stripes in dialog, and compromise on issues, it’s unlikely to end well.

  7. Don’t despair. There are plenty of carpetbagging radicals in BN and more to come to take crazy Jenn’s place. Matekja, Schmidt, Renner , Koos, etc. make sure the drain is full of radical sewage to be eventually deposited in BN. Others currently on both councils are just smarter not to show all their cards to the public but pretty much believe everything the “proud brown woman” does. No matter who takes her place, the streets will remain in disrepair, ancient sewers will still crumble and unnecessary projects will take precedence. You see, it’s always been Three Card Monty with only certain people benefiting from their BN citizenship. World without end, amen.

  8. OK – I am asking because I do not know the answer. Has the credit rating of the folks who have not paid rent during the pandemic been lowered? Was Jenn paying her rent?

  9. From all the waxing poetic about Mexico City, it’s baffling that she just doesn’t move back there and REALLY make her dream — and our wish — come true. For all their narcissism, Jenn and her immoral Marxist buddies are too dense to figure out that they don’t like being in, and don’t belong in, this community. They openly despise most of the people in it (and by law of attraction, it comes right back at them), and they should pick up immediately and move to New York City, LA or Chicago. Perfect little echo chambers full of like-minded idiots living on government checks in rent-controlled apartments. I feel sorry for Jenn’s new neighbors having to look at that snarky sour puss every day. Hope they let their dogs crap in her yard and she can get a taste of private property ownership, and the idiots who infringe upon it. In her Marxist utopia, they would have every right to use her yard as a pet toilet.

  10. Another thing little Jenn does not seem to understand is, many very low income people, especially seniors, are home owners, not renters and they have the financial responsibility of the upkeep of their houses on their own shoulders, and they are at the mercy as well of the “code enforcement” Nosy Nancies and Picky Petes who go around looking for ways to harass some of these low income homeowners, a few of whom are also small time landlords for whom that rent supplements their meager Social Security, – poverty is FAR from being the domain only of the renters, so stop making renters out to be some sort of oppressed and angelic group Carrillo. Oh and if your new Casa Azul (Frida Kahlo must be one of her heroines) reminds you of your home in Mexico, you sure didn’t grow up in any pueblo indio en Chiapas o algunos barrio pobre en D.F. , because there isn’t a house for sale in this entire area that resembles the majority of those places.

  11. When an Equity Racist with a government soapbox gives up its because they realize that the sum total of their real support couldn’t fill a porta-potty.

Your hope that the sewer repairs will be done on the basis of “equity” (race), is a pipe dream. The only ones that will win that battle are the discrimination lawyers.

  12. Not that I give a flip one way or the other but the chances of Carrillo buying a house with her own money is pretty slim. It wasn’t that long ago she was begging people on social media to help her move into the ward and assist in paying her rent. The gig she got with IPA (i.e., DSA or CPUSA — take your choice) must have shot her to the top of the pay scale. Even purchasing a 1,000 sf home or less still requires the purchaser to have a decent credit rating, semi- gainful employment and some history of personal responsibility. All her cohorts must have contributed to her fund or purchased the property in a ” group quarters” arrangement. It will be fun to see how the property is listed on the tax roles once the info becomes public.

  13. whatever the details, residents of bloomington should consider themselves fortunate this juvenile cancer is gone, and do what is necessary to encourage a mature replacement be confirmed

This is awesome news. You have been a destructive Alderwoman, and I assure you people are jumping for joy at you’re departure from the City Council. You speak lovingly of your home In Mexico. You had the Mexican flag sitting in front of you at your seat during City Council Meetings. You make it obvious that you hate the USA, and that you despise our values as a country. The Constitution, and Bill of Rights. You should of gone back to Mexico City, rather than staying here and trying to change our culture, values, and way of life. Simply said, you’re an agitator and undesirable. If you were in fact naturalized, then you took an oath of loyalty to the USA. You consistently violated that oath through your behavior and actions. You must really hate yourself and your self esteem must be low if the only way you can validate yourself is to become a provocateur. You named your new house, Casa Azul. Now, that’s funny. Doing that in this country is usually done for large estates of the rich and famous.

Almost all the latin countries are filled with poverty, crime, high unemployment, an very corrupt governments. Why aren’t you in one of those countries “fighting the battle”? I know the answer, you would not last more than a few minutes and would be either executed or imprisoned. The only way you get by in the USA is because our Bill of Rights , which you despise, allows you to do so. How ironic. The best thing you can do for yourself is to seek mental health treatment,
