Dogs can be trained to find child porn devices

By: Diane Benjamin

I’m posting this fundraiser because finding and prosecuting people who traffic in child porn and abuse children need removed from society. I also trust the guy trying to raise money – Chad Berck.

He sent this information to me:

I’m currently raiser money for Operation Underground Railroad. I’m trying to get $10,000 for a digital sniffing canine.

These dogs sniff electronic equipment for teams that do searches for child pornography or when they find a location where child trafficking has taken place. Many times the traffickers of both children and pornography will hide the evidence on very small digital memory drives. Finding these devices has always been difficult and most of the time impossible.

But that changed with the latest new advances in technology, a specialized and highly trained nose of the modern K9.  Both Law enforcement agencies and private agencies, like those I’m working with at Operation Underground Railroad, are able to sniff out vital evidence to get convictions for these crimes.

The most famous example is “Jared” from the Subway commercials. His arrest and ultimate conviction was only because of a digital electronic sniffing K9 that found his hidden stash of explicit kiddie porn. Without that evidence, he would be free to continue his life funding child sexual abuse or worse.

Multiply his story by hundreds, thousands maybe millions. Then include trafficking, torture, and it has become an epidemic that must be stopped.

Ask any Mexican mother her worst fear and she will say my children being taken and sold. It’s common in rural towns, and a mother’s greatest fear.

I personally saw it in the 90’s when I was in Central America flying drug interdiction missions against the cartels and the inter tangled web of money, sex, drugs, child slaves – boys and girls . Unfortunately, I didn’t know then what I know now or the extent of what I was witnessing and the plague that it would become. I only hope what little time I was there helped someone.

  1. OMG – that story of the father harming his own newborn – I can’t even!!! =(
I am so heartbroken – This makes me want to throw up.

Why aren’t we publicly hanging these monsters?!?!?

    1. There might not be a tree big enough but there’s a big parking garage. I’m sure we can engineer something. Rope, child molester, something else. Some assembly required.

  2. And so there is a direct connection btw this and what our state and local boards of education and JB Pritzker are pushing into our schools and libraries.

In the name of “inclusion” they will sacrifice our children. Where are the churches?

    1. It is not surprising the Pritzker’s would be okay promoting sexual confusion and promiscuity. The Jewish Talmud states their are up to eight acceptable genders that Jewish rabbis promoted. Also, it is a known fact the family profits over sex change operations and even one in the own family is sexually confused and has transitioned.Child trafficking is extremely serious and problematic and beyond sick. Many politicians are involved. See the new Jim Caviezel movie that draws attention to this.

    2. I sent emails to a few local Churches about the situation at the “music festival”.

      Zero response.

      1. It was an add on to my first comment. Not just Christian churches should be speaking out. We need to come together on this common belief.

  3. The error rate for dogs searching for drugs especially marijuana is fairly high. The problem is residual order. Imagine that you brought a second hand car and you’re stopped and the drug sniffing dog smells marijuana, you have done nothing wrong and they arrest you. Detection dogs can be influenced by their handlers biases. Also detection dog can violate civil rights of people being searched sometimes without cause. The 4th Amendment prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures. Dogs have amazing ability to detect BUT that can be abused.

I find FromHere response highly disturbing.. “The temples, the mosques, synagogues”. What the heck are you implying? That Jewish people and Muslims are abusing children and are involved in pornography? That’s not true and it’s frankly racist and Islamic-phobic not mention antisemitic.

This is an antisemitic screed and rant. You should all be ashamed of the comments on this forum

    1. To Jeff. This was an add on to my first comment but it got disassociated from it in the list of other responses. So, not only should Christian churches speak out against this but also all other types of worship. I should have replied to my own comment. Sorry for the confusion.

      1. I understood. Yes. Everyone should be made aware and informed about protecting our children. Regardless of religion, nationality, race, creed, etc.

    2. The error rate is about 25%. Dogs are brought in after the person has been charged to gather evidence during the investigation.

K9 searches for drugs around vehicles and persons during traffic stops at airports or non-traffic stops, which I disagree with, used as fishing expeditions are a totally separate issue. Unless a person has been found in possession of an illicit substance already or if it’s in “plain sight” I disagree with “walking” around the car and attempting to get a hit with a dog.

However, electronic sniffing dogs don’t work like this. They are not used in crowded environments, airports, etc. it would overwhelm their ability to “hit”. As literally everyone has an electronic device. They are employed after a search warrant has been obtained by a judge and served or afterwards to gather evidence in a more controlled environment. Finding hidden caches of storage materials and secret stashes.

Also, many times this happens in other countries where the laws, customs, family bonds and values are much different and do not allow the citizens the protections and privileges that we in the US have. So, this problem is moot in some cases. The police or military simply open the door, detain or arrest the suspect, Conduct the search and if evidence is found, arrest the suspect. When a US official or O.U.R. member is present they insist on Geneva Convention and international law for treatment of the criminals. However, when working in foreign countries, the guests cannot dictate the rules. An attempt to quickly arrest the suspected criminal is made. This is done for the “suspected” criminals own protection, (if they are lucky enough to escape the wrath of the locals) otherwise the community will find out the crime and take matters into their own hands or the local police, militia, mob, etc will execute them or worse. A sense of secrecy and urgency is always necessary.

    3. Jewish and Muslim people abusing children? In many cases, yes. Not wrong to point it out. Ever heard of Jeffrey Epstein or that many Middle Eastern men, particularly Muslim, have an affinity for taking young wives as young as pre-teen. It’s acceptable in the culture. Nice try. Next time, be aware of the world around you before commenting. As an aside, the 1917 revolt in Russia that established Communism led by many Jews. Not anti anything to point out factual history.

        1. No, Jeff was not inferring that. He states in his comment that stating that any Jew or Muslim could abuse a child was Antisemitic and Islamaphobic. Geesh, quit letting these people control the narrative. It’s way past time to stand up to the liberal BS.

  4. A case where a an “electronic sniffing dog” or “ESD” got one of the biggest and most wanted child porn criminals originally from the Netherlands had attempted to flee to Mexico. It didn’t work out so well when Hidu caught his scent, a 100 lbs black lab trained to sniff out TPPO, a chemical used in small, solid-state memory and other electronic devices for dogs to detect.
