My nomination for worst person of 2023 (and likely 2024)

By: Diane Benjamin

The email below was sent to MoveOn.org members on both 12/28 and 12/29. The title of this email from Robert Reich was:

Fascism is on our doorstep

Robert Reich knows what a fascist is, people who get his emails evidently don’t. The current administration is closer to fascist than Trump ever was. Reich is reactivating ANTIFA – the supposed Anti-Fascist morons who think they are saving America through violence.

Expect political violence in 2024 because chaos is meant to make you forget about inflation, open borders, Afghanistan, perverting children, pronouns, new wars, political persecutions, massive debt etc. etc.

Reich also knows we are a Republic, not a democracy. He wants a democracy instead because stealing your stuff is meaningless in a democracy. Majority rules even if laws have to be broken to do it. Democracies also never last long.

MoveOn needs money to bus their people from city to city to wreak havoc. It’s a good thing progressives aren’t swimming in bucks this year. Because of progressive policies few are.

The funniest part is Reich uses Liz Cheney as his propaganda source. 🤣

I’m open to other “worst person” nominations!

Dear MoveOn member,

2024 will go down in history as the year that America chose democracy or fascism.

But that history has yet to be written.

What happens in 2024 is up to us. Truly.

What will you tell your grandchildren or friends years from now about what you did when our country was teetering on the edge of fascism?

I know my answer: I fought like hell to save our democracy.

But I need you right by my side, because it’s going to take all of us coming together to stop Donald Trump and his MAGA movement from taking over the White House—and never leaving. That’s right, never leaving. The writing is on the wall. Even Republicans know it’s true.1

That’s the reality of the situation we face. I hate to have to write this, but remember, Hitler was initially elected. Please don’t doubt the gravity of the situation our country is in.

So today, I want to ask you to start a monthly donation to MoveOn, because MoveOn is exceptional at engaging millions of people across the country and turning them out to vote. But that kind of grassroots organizing must start now, because talking with voter after voter is expensive, and they can do it only with our support.

Will you start a $5 monthly gift to MoveOn today? Your ongoing support will ensure that they have the resources to engage millions of people to fight Trump’s march to fascism and save our democracy in 2024.

Yes, I’ll chip in monthly.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

MoveOn showed me a preview of their election plan, and I’m impressed. MoveOn has spent 25 years honing their work engaging and turning out voters, and it shows.

Back in 2020, MoveOn piloted a program called “vote tripling,” an innovative voter outreach tactic that engaged individuals to reach out to three friends or family members to help them make a plan to vote and hold them accountable for getting to the polls. Data showed that a program like this was five times more effective than traditional outreach like phone-banking.

They refined the program in 2022 and focused on what they call “surge voters,” those people who voted for the first time in 2018 or 2020 and who are likely to make the difference between winning and losing in most battleground states. In the end, their data showed that more than 50,000 voters cast votes who otherwise would not have turned out. That’s HUGE.

And now they are taking that program to the next level, combining their vote-tripling program with a massive, multitiered voter outreach plan to get to voters early and keep them engaged all the way through Election Day.

It’s a smart, strategic, data-driven campaign—exactly what I would expect from MoveOn.

But 2023 was a rough year for fundraising at progressive organizations, which means that they are starting the year with less funds than they anticipated and need to quickly catch up to ensure that the MAGA movement can’t steamroll its way back to power.

So I’m asking, with our country on the precipice of fascism and Trump planning to spend the rest of his days in the White House, please, will you start a $5 monthly gift to MoveOn to help engage millions of voters and turn them out to vote? Every single dollar will help protect our freedom, our country, and our future.

Yes, I’ll chip in monthly.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

Thanks for all you do.

–Robert Reich

  1. Worst person?!?! Oh my, there are almost too many to count but lets not forget the ‘BigGuy’. We all know he’s just the face of many
….Obama, Soros, and others, but he is the face. He’s done more damage to America in a shorter time than any person in the last century all by further implementing Obama and Soros policies to ‘fundamentally change America’. They’re getting what they want done through Biden. Would Move on.org even exist but for Soros?
Soros is the root, Obama is the trunk, and all the rest….universities, teachers unions, Anifa, BLM, the Squad, and idiots like Liz Chaney….. are the limbs of the tree that will destroy America.

  2. I’d have to say the Obamas. Looking at all the crazy things going on in America today you start to think, what’s wrong with everyone? Why do so many Americans hate America so much?

Who are the ones that made hating America a cool thing? Barack and Michelle Obama. They codified it. There were enough people around that worshiped them to make Anti-Americanism a well oiled machine.
In Equity education, Globalism, being Colonialism focused, as anti-semites, anti-military, anti-white, and many other things I see the Obamas as the driving force for America’s nihilists.

They are the worst persons of the century. The sad thing is they could have easily been the best.

    1. I totally agree with all you’ve said but I do question your the worst of the century rating FROMHERE. That honor, for America, surly should go to George Soros. I believe he’s the man behind Obama, someone crated that ‘Manchurian Candidate’ and I think it was Soros.

  3. Worst person of the year is the thought leader for the day? And then jump to the Obama’s?Seems a bit myopic and narrow minded? It’s easy to be a critic; what’s been accomplished with it? Read some of Reichs other postings as well since he’s the focus. I did and found some interesting thoughts in the capitalism series, and the others that expand what he means by fascism and socialism. He’s not entirely wrong as you suggest. He makes more good points in one posting than the entire GOP does in a year. Once upon a time his work was embraced by the GOP, but of course you must know that. I was a Republican then. These days I mostly don’t recognize the party except by the chaos and disruptive damage that have become its hallmarks. Sadly, the present GOP is about the most un-American thing I can think of. And the worst person, he’s at the helm running over each and every one that has pledged themselves to him.

      1. Agree the GOP ‘ain’t what it used to be’ or should be…….but it’s far far from the most un-American thing… I can think of!! Try the democrats…. much worse, a hundred times worse!!!!!! The Republicans are simply anemic, the democrats are vile anti-constutionalist encouragers of anarchy. Trump is possibly the only person that can put us back on track, if we’d be able to implement his policies….but we won’t be able to. Thanks to BLMers, Antifa, Rhinos, elitist leftists, and indoctrinated white liberals.

          1. Yes DeSantis did, and did it with dignity. But political times are the toughest I’ve ever seen, I think we need a junk yard dog. Don’t think for a second the left and MSM won’t turn on DeSantis just like they did on Trump, probably will brand him ‘little Donald’. A story….coming home from vacation to find raccoons invaded your house…..do you care whether the exterminater is a clown or not? Or do you want just rid of the ‘coons?

              1. True. Very true. All second term presidents are.

My biggest concern is Biden will bow out or more likely be bowed out and …. wait for it…. Michelle will be begged to save the day. She will humbly accept and America will be gone for ever.

                  1. Yes, she hates the White House but does she hate White America more? I think she does. And Barack would be involved, of course….and George Soros or his kid. But, WE’D all be good and well screwed!!!!!!

  4. Any association with Unity party, Lincoln Project, MoveOn or other large PACs calling themselves conservatives

Dont trust (all getting rich off you and their system) Ne careful who and what organizations you respect trust

Cheney and Jan 6 committee loves it!

  5. I nominate Brian Deese who was in the WH under Obama and now under Biden.
The slithering snake is often found standing behind Biden.
    Another economist like Reich.

I wish I got 1 penny for every time a Democrat throws out that word “Democracy” .
I’d be a milllionaire by now.

We certainly need someone whether it is Trump, DeSantis, etc. to clean house at the DOJ, FBI, etc. Then reign in the Democrat party. I think many blacks are seeing the light now and how the Democrats have been using them. I have ran across several on Youtube that want nothing to do with the Democrat party anymore.
