Voting? At least be informed first

I don’t know why Democrats would show up since I didn’t see a single contested election except President and that vote is immaterial. Will Dems vote Republican to take out candidates they hate? I wouldn’t be surprised.

Republicans at least have a few contested races:  County Board races, Circuit Clerk, 17th Congressional District, 88th Congressional District, 53rd District State Senator, 105th District Representative. There are MANY different ballots so I might have missed some. The Republican presidential vote is also immaterial. (let me know of other contested races!)

Olympia School District wants to raise property taxes. Once raised taxes NEVER go down regardless of what is told to voters. Why are two questions on the primary ballot when few people vote? 🤔

If you are voting by mail I suggest dropping off the ballot. It’s silly to trust someone else to get your ballot to where it needs to go.

  1. I live in the Olympia School District, which covers five counties (McLean, DeWitt, Logan, Tazwell and Woodford). I can’t answer why there are two questions on the ballot. One is for Education and the other is Building and Maintenance. I do know the Building and Maintenance question has to do with needing money to fix the indoor pool at the school. That pool is only used by a club team and I don’t know who else uses it. Why should the taxpayers in the school district have to pay for the repairs even if we don’t use it or not allowed to use it. The school should have been on top of the pool maintenance from the beginning. I have seen how much my property taxes goes to this district and I have no kids. I am already voting “No” to both questions and I won’t be surprised if this does not pass.
