Parked at State Farm

Then this video appeared tying to unionize the plant:

Unions have outlived their usefulness!
As a former Mitsubishi worker and Union Rep I can assure you quality will NOT improve with a unionized workforce! Mitsubisi also cranked garbage out the door until it finally caught up with them.
Working conditions might improve slightly but adding the cost to an already expensive vehicle will kill sales.
As far as complaints and grievances against the company it will be a neverending cycle of “non-precident setting resolutions” that never fix anything.
Last point, unionized workers don’t care about anybody but themselves. There is NO SOLIDARITY in today’s unions and if you dont lock arms and take on a company TOGETHER you’ll get nowhere!
Good luck!
At MMNA (Mitsubishi) it was a battle for who would control the company. Management or the UAW. The UAW won that battle for a few reasons.
My two cents on the union story.
I would approach the union versus company narrative with caution. Speaking from experience, *some* individuals treat this conflict like a game, venting their personal frustrations or desire for power over large corporations or their bosses. Unions have been known to take advantage of these people to gain more workplace influence or in this case to unionize a plant.
Regarding safety, companies take complaints seriously. Period. Management won’t ignore concerns, as they may trigger comprehensive plant inspections risking hefty OSHA fines. Not to mention injury compensation costs. So, the indication that Rivian management just doesn’t care about safety doesn’t hold water.
To add insult to injury, Biden pushed the auto industry into the black hole of the EV market before it was ready by threatening future mandates and making unrealistic goals. But now he is flipping on them as he sees how unpopular EV’s are to the voters. Biden is using the auto industry as a pawn in his power game and destroying a lot of people in the process.
Also, you have to consider the motives of the media. Often times it’s more about their own profit over truth which leads them to sensationalize.
I am shocked that anyone thinks any of this matters. This company is in a death spiral. Watch this:

Very informative but hardly surprising. Anyone that personally witnessed Scaringe’s pitches to the local community could figure out he was making it up as he went along. There was no documented proof of any kind he had the ability to deliver. Even a engineering degree from MIT won’t take you very far in this case if you have zero experience in auto manufacturing or no manufacturing business experience. He has taken BN for a ride but that is easy to do with the mental midgets that have been running things for decades. All that has been accomplished so far has been done with other people’s money and government grift. But again, BN leadership has a rich history of ignoring the red flags others easily see.
All those Rivian vehicles in State Farm lots. can you imagine the amount of damage when the next hailstorm comes. Maybe that’s what Rivian wants. At least with hailstone damage they will get some money for those vehicles! Maybe Rivian is planning on giving them to the illegals when they come to town as a WELCOMING gift.
You say that as if the alternative parking place would be some sort of giant covered warehouse somewhere. If you recall, MMNA had a sea of cars parked outside awaiting shipment as well. These are all sold and awaiting delivery. So are the Amazon vans out at Rivian. Amazon only accepts the vans in groups.
I’ve worked with and around 5 major unions…UAW, teamsters, SEIU, and the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MACHINISTS AND AEROSPACE WORKERS, and the IBEW and i can tell you that for the most part these days the workers give 2 F’s about pride in the product that goes out the door or how the company performs as long as they get theirs. its all about me, me, me and $$$$. its a culture problem with people. the unions cant change that. unions know it, but they still want membership so BA’s can have their fancy SUV and boondoggle trips paid for, oh yeah and that sweet pension deal. Democrats also give 2 F’s about unions, but these fools still believe. all around unions are the dinosaur of the mob machine. and then like @FROMHERE said its a pissing match always between the company and union. big waste of time and resources!
