Payroll approved at the last Bloomington City Council meeting showed 953 employees. Payroll tonight shows 999.

Evidently that still isn’t enough employees since two items are on the Consent Agenda to “brand” the City. $10,960 + $55,450 = $66,410 to make them Employer of Choice! I don’t know how much the first 3 phases cost or how many more phases are in the future.

It is a fact: Big government equals less freedom.

Two years ago at the February 28th meeting payroll showed 803 employees: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/27444/637782012918770000

Is your life better with 196 more employees? The only way to control ridiculous pension expenses is to not expand the workforce. It appears your government knows where to get more money and therefore doesn’t care.

The big item on the agenda is the Budget. At least Bloomington spends more than one day discussing it – unlike Normal.

  1. I like the small towns that if you’re lucky they might not even have a mayor. Population, one hundred and thirty two. Yep. That’s my kinda town.
