Was Bloomington’s DEI hiring showing last night?

That statement means the BEST person applying for a job isn’t the one that gets hired. Bloomington chooses employees based on race, gender, etc. Going woke isn’t going to bankrupt them like many companies before them – they can always get more money from you!

Last night the entire meeting wasn’t Live Streamed. Below was the view before the video ended around 32 minutes into the meeting. Really bad audio forced ending the Live Stream. Many presentations were made – zero of the speakers were on video. This was the camera view:

All of the speakers were way off camera on the right side.

Around 1:06:00 the back of a guy with a camera blocked part of the video. He might have been press.

Two women spoke at Public Comment concerning encounters with people living in the tent city. Of course you can’t see them talk, but you can listen. The first one was threatened by a couple who knocked on her door demanding money. The second mentioned a guy who can no longer have customers at his home because of safety concerns. Alcohol and drugs are rampant, Huck’s quit selling lighters because of “drug cooking” on their property. The tent city residents aren’t staying in their tents, they wonder around downtown often under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Just hit play to hear their comments:

3 police officers were commissioned after completing the probation period. They won’t have video to remember the moment because they weren’t on video.

The police department received an accreditation plaque. That’s not on video either.

Two other proclamations aren’t on video.

The McLean County Board holds meetings in the same space and Live Streams meetings without problems. In the past slides and videos weren’t shown at Bloomington Council meetings because of ineptness. Boeing’s woke CEO resigned after numerous problems endangering passenger on their planes.

Tim Gleason is allowing tent city and endangering area citizens. Employees can’t figure out how to Live Stream and point cameras in directions they need to be pointed.

Gleason should take the Boeing CEO as an example and quit. I bet the Bloomington Council offered a raise to stay instead.

  1. $45 for a towed car? There will never be a downtown Bloomington. Stop spending money on downtown that is just destined to be bars and attorney offices. This counsel with an exception of a few is a joke. And WHY isnt BPD monitoring this situation? Where is the CHIEF? Where is the community engagement officer? This is his job.

  2. Concerning Bloomington’s hiring practices.
    We, and lawyers, should know specifically how (by what mechanism) they accomplish “increasing their employment of marginalized groups”.

    What questions do they use in their applications and new hire interviews to promote this?
    What does “propel our organization’s culture forward” mean?
    How is that measured? When is it accomplished?
    What is a “marginalized group”? Who determines that and how? Is there a list? How do you qualify for this benefit?
    Will promotions, pay and and firings be influenced by the benefit of being in a “marginalized groups” category?
    Will those groups be increased in the future and who will determine that?
