Don’t Forget: Geese are an endangered species

By: Diane Benjamin

Geese are so endangered they have to reserve their own parking spaces now.

Probably listed as endangered by the same people who told you the polar ice cap would be gone decades ago.

  1. Personally I love the geese & love watching them every spring, from nesting to the goslings being born. Whenever they are crossing the road, I always slow down & let them cross. I hate to see a dead one, because someone was in such a hurry they’d rather kill one then slow down.

  2. They’re great until they attack and walk out in front of traffic. They are a nusence and a danger. I have almost hit 2 of them this year. How are they endangered when there are so many? Take them off the list like they did with the wolves.

  3. Geese…..endangered? That must be why there’s a limit of three per day during goose season. They’re the original road blocking demonstrators, the human ones are also a protected species, too bad in both cases.

  4. Not endangered. “Protected” with a treaty with Canada.
Also, they can be real A-holes and attack people. Beware!!

    1. Honestly, any animal can be assholes and attack people anytime they want. But you’re right they are protected under the Canadian Bird Act.

  5. You should do actual research before you post something that’s false. Canadian Geese are not endangered. They may be hunted like ducks during certain hunting seasons. They are protected in that it is illegal to harm geese, their eggs or nest without the permission from the US Fish and Wild Service. Geese may be scared away as long as Geese and goslings are not harmed. There is no treaty between the United States and Canada regarding the Canadian Goose.

    1. “The Migratory Birds Convention Act emerged from an International treaty between Canada and the United States. The treaty is known as the Migratory Birds Convention, signed in 1916.”
      Amended in 1999

  6. Never mind the fact the geese attack citizens ! They are like illegals in BLONO you try to protect yourself from them and YOU are punished! My sister was attacked by one and when she complained about it to authorities she was told she could be fined for assaulting or defending herself from the geese!

  7. “they don’t migrate, so is it void” oh man, cracking open diplomatic loopholes on blnews dot com! got em!
