The Coroner’s reports

By: Diane Benjamin

The McLean County Coroner, Kathy Yoder, includes a report every month in the Justice Committee packet. It recaps County deaths including causes. Falls and Fractures continue to be the highest rate of accidental death.

Total County deaths for 2023 were 101 less than 2022. https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/10011

The first 3 months of 2024 are reversing that trend. I will be watching the drug and suicide deaths for increases. Homicides show 3 so far this year, another trend to watch. It would be nice if all numbers showed year-to-date and last years too, but they don’t.

  1. PATH just got their funding cut so watch suicide rates go through the roof! But don’t worry folk’s,Rivian got almost a billion tax dollars to stay afloat! Remember that when election time comes around. How idiotic the state of Illinois really is and it just goes to show,Illinois could care less of its citizens.
