Using Bloomington’s Road ratings: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/36eea74c6ede4cd08e7d6ec03ed14246
and McLean County GIS:

I mapped the roads with a 3 rating. The colors are too close to distinguish, but I didn’t find any roads rating less than 3. See the legend on the first link. Whoever created the legend did a poor job with colors 1- 3. How about throwing in some blues and purples?
This is the area I mapped. It is south of E Oakland, east of Eldorado, west of Towanda Barnes, and north of Hamilton Rd.

Of course this is a small part of Bloomington, including a lot of open space.
This small area has 5.86 miles of road rated 3. Lane miles are 11.3 for 2 lane roads and .84 for E Oakland where it is 4 lane. That’s a total of 12.14 lane miles. I don’t believe any roads in Bloomington are rated a 1 or 2 because they would be undrivable.
Since roads are a low priority for everyone in Bloomington government, the budget for this year will not even fix the “3”s in this small section of town.
I will continue mapping the rest of Bloomington. If Bloomington can’t say how many lane miles are disgusting roads themselves, I will tell them. Fixing the roads won’t get your name on a plaque so spending elsewhere will always be a higher priority.
Keep in mind Alderman Sheila Montney is the only one who voted no on the budget because of road funding. Everyone else may have told you they would fix the roads when they wanted your vote, obviously they didn’t mean it.

What do the colors mean? Red? Green? Labeling them 1-10 has little meaning.
It’s only 1-8. 1 and 2 aren’t used, so the real rating is 3-8. 3 being the worst, 8 being perfect.
But drive by mayor Koos house and you will find that it is one of the smoothest roads in Bloomington Normal. His road was resurfaced several years ago when other roads were in worse shape. Pays to be in power but this is obviously what the voters of Normal want!!!
Montney is a star!
