The Lake Bloomington building burned down 5 years ago. The City collected $536,581.87 from insurance according to these docs: PDF page 80: https://bloomingtonil.iqm2.com/Citizens/FileOpen.aspx?Type=1&ID=1167&Inline=True

That document is from the May 9, 2022 Council packet. The estimate in 2022 was $565,000 for the total project. (PDF page 90). Since inflation is high the costs will continue to increase. Keep delaying it, the costs will only increase. It’s been over 5 years, no need to rush it now.


Knowing what roads are going to be fixed would be nice, it won’t be many for this amount:


Two items are on the regular agenda, of course downtown is part of it. That is the only part of town the matters. I wonder if the Housing Recovery Plan will include government intervention in the free market. Stay tuned.
