Some state legislatures don’t meet every year. Taxes are lower and citizens have more freedom because elected officials don’t attempt to tell citizens how to run their lives.

Illinois government makes all decisions for you and sends you the bill. Hundreds of bills are passed every year, the budget is always passed in the middle of the night.
Funny how they can’t figure out why people leave Illinois.
They know exactly why people leave Illinois! But they don’t care. Just raise taxes and pass evermore restrictive laws, harbor illegals and turn your back on victims of crime while you rename criminals. Leftist insanity combined with a total disregard for decent taxpaying citizens……. It’s evil and it’s part of the end of America. Yesterday was the end of our Republic.

Cause elites, and Obama/Pritzker picks and politicians run and operate state dept – every industry, regulator dept and university
Low tax or no tax states usually are not blue Marxist sanctuary states that rake in our tax dough and line their own & friends/family pockets
Some and many low/no tax states have bigger fees and costs on other things to generate revenue but appealing
Illinois does both
