The City is developing a nasty habit of not posting event reports for the arena or BCPA until I FOIA them. No reports had been posted since a 5/17 performance to the BCPA site: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/government/advanced-components/documents/-folder-2105#docan2735_6873_64
The Arena shows nothing since March 15th: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/government/advanced-components/documents/-folder-2104#docan2735_6873_64
There are still many event reports missing, evidently keeping secrets with lack of transparency is the new normal. It’s also difficult to match artist fees with a show when the usual description isn’t always clear.
3 shows – all losers:

420 tickets distributed and ticket sales of $1030.00. How did giving away tickets produce sales?
This was a first Friday event – it lost money because artists was paid to perform:

I thought this show actually made a lot of money until bills for approval Monday night were posted. A second payment of $105,000 appeared. Instead of win it’s a loser.

The City of Bloomington sure loves to GIVE AWAY hard earned tax payer dollars. And for what??? Meanwhile, infrastructure continues to crumble.
Shouldn’t the artist’s fee be in the event expenses section?
Of course, but they don’t want other artists to see what others are paid.
Clearly – the City is hoping that you stop asking!
The BCPA needs to be up FOR SALE immediately!
And if there is no interest in purchasing this operation – then CLOSE it down.
The taxpayers should have never been straddled with this venue.
