Providing housing for homeless veterans is admirable. The grant had to be substantial, why did they chose properties people already live in?

Can’t blame the landlord for selling…McLean Co treats them like 2nd class citizens.
I mean they’re not extending their lease….life happens. Move on. Not like they are kicking them out in the middle of their lease. Could they have let them know sooner? Perhaps….that’s on the landlord. Why chose properties people already occupy? Probably location as this area is near the VA…that’s my guess. That and perhaps the original owner was looking to sell anyway?
I wonder if the new tenants of the Salvation Army have to apologize for being white?
