Repeating the same mistakes

It is likely your public school didn’t tell you the Pilgrims tried socialism/collectivism and found out it didn’t work. https://www.aier.org/article/the-pilgrims-tried-socialism-and-it-failed/

McLean County used to be a beacon of freedom, after the November elections the county will probably have a County Board control by socialists/collectivists, also called Democrats. Lucky you! Your tax dollars already go to illegal aliens because you live in the State of Illinois, also in your future is buying some hotel to house homeless people. Of course tax increases are involved – see the State Democrats who can’t tax you enough. The same types will be in charge here.

You won’t be allowed to ask how many homeless were shipped here from let’s say Chicago.

You won’t be allowed to ask how many homeless are addicted to drugs and alcohol and should be in treatment instead of free housing.

You won’t be allowed to demand work requirements for free housing.

You won’t be allowed to ask how many illegal aliens are in local housing preventing space for citizens.

What you will get is the bill!

All good leftists demand you have less so others can have more. (everyone but themselves)

Proof is leaking out because they have to get you used to the idea before it can get passed. Get ready for conga lines of bleeding heart liberals. Eastview brought the homeless to their downtown property. They have a large property in north Normal. They should be taking care of their invitees, not sticking you with a hotel.

Patrick Hoban, EDC, knows what’s best. He’s working on a doctorate and is therefore an expert. Maybe he hasn’t heard that “expert” is now as bad as being called a “journalist”. Many experts have been proven to say whatever they get paid to say.

  1. Yes they did. Wasn’t there another, slightly more recent, experimental community in Indiana? A spectacular failure I believe.

  2. Someone please answer this question. Home Sweet Home relies on donations. It’s a charitable organization. How are they allowed to do this? Now we aren’t allowed to pick who we donate to? Do they change their status? Are they now a taxing body?

  3. I think they should first consider asking the homeless if they would much rather live in another state. If so buy them a Amtrak ticket. For the others I hear uptown Normal has a nice grassy area that they want the public to enjoy hangout and play music. There may also be some empty building spaces available in Uptown where they can make sleeping units.

  4. Way back when we were debating the new Welcoming State and Welcoming Cities declarations I remember arguing about where we would put the influx of people. Of course I was called a bigot and worse.

Odd how NOBODY speaks about being a Welcoming City or Welcoming State anymore.
