Logan’s Roadhouse also closed as did Kentucky Fried Chicken. Others?

Everything is fine though. 🤦‍♀️

  1. This is nothing. How long before Rivian closes and 8000 + jobs are lost. Their stock is close to being under $10 a share. Few on Wall Street are optimistic about them anymore. They are quickly running out of money. They lose $32,700 on every “truck” they sell. Check out this and watch the short video: Rivian (RIVN) Won’t Ever See Volkswagen’s $5b ‘Investment’ https://247wallst.com/investing/2024/10/15/rivn-stock-wont-ever-see-volkswagens-5b-investment/

    1. Yeah, and the town and state keep throwing our money at them hoping something magical happens.

  2. ??Logans at College Hills?? We have gift cards and we gave gift cards last Christmas that might not all be used…
Red Robin… I never heard about that one either!
I have not heard which cities are losing Walgreens but I know it’s a lot, (1500?) across the US.
About KFC… the one in Bloomington closed, or were there others here?
Our government is killing all our businesses…

        1. After eating your cooking for all of these years, a Ponderosa steak would be good to him. Logans was god awful and had a rat infestation problem. Good grief, restaurants close every single year and have been doing so forever. Why dont you talk about all of the new ones that have popped up? We know why, you deal in the negative only. What a pathetic, sad existence you live.

  3. My daughter just got Furloughed from AAC electronics along with 5 others.

this is going to keep up for a while.

  4. Here we go again you report what is really going on in our community and you get accused quite rudely of living a “pathetic sad existence “. I don’t know what planet that person is from but my house taxes have raised to point that I have to choose to sell my house or stop eating the cost of everything has gone through the ceiling I just got new glasses $208 3 years ago today $420 just as an example. I guess you can accuse me of being negative but help me understand what good and wonderful things are happening in our community.

  5. Unemployment Data at state level is and always has been misrepresented. 99 plus the State Farm layoffs is a lot and not everyone gets “severance” at all or even unemployment at a substantial level or has pension or savings and just get by. Social Engineering is a problem in McLean Co and State wide. If you ever have to deal with a state system or IDES or other state dept Good Luck. Another “integrated” money and data grab. The platforms the state pushed for and workflow and CRM systems are a mess and bad but it all sounds really “cool” calling it WorkForce Dev and Innovation.

This does not impact me personally but certainly does many others in Central Illinois and state I know and endure. Finding sustainable income or jobs means you work for state, county or government it seems or sell everything and move out of state. Paying attention to who has ties to what universities/colleges (alumni) and project being implemented was ignored by both parties for quite some time.

Central Appraisal District (Assessment data integrity) and changes and GIS Data Integrity and projects need to be addressed eventually county wide. Property Tax systems and process and money grabs and calling it abiding by “fair” taxing is deceptive and a money grab. Also taxing unrealized gains (property taxes) should be illegal. Neither side of the aisle care because they call everything “innovation” or economy improvement or reducing technical debt (what a scam for property owners and taxpayers). The Real Estate bubble and system helps elites for sure. Wonder if anyone on these tickets will even discuss any of it. Economies at the Micro Level and taxpayers/citizens are impacted by county and local systems and process and money funnels.

    “Trust the system…” No

  6. Even with Yellow and Old Dominion going out of business XPO is furloughing employees. This is frightening as there are not goods being shipped. The economy is bigger trouble than most realize.
