A 1% Sales Tax increase will be on the April 1st ballot. An organized effort to defeat it needs to start now. Your property taxes will not go down. Schools soak up every dime they can and just change the rules on producing education results. Can you afford more taxes?
If you don’t understand the possible government shut down, explore that link. This is unsustainable and finally a few elected officials care enough to change the trajectory. Most people will not even notice a government shutdown because most of it NEVER shuts down. The military needs paid, otherwise budgets need to passed. Continuing resolutions need to end.
This is just a tiny part of the link. The debt per citizen doesn’t hand any part to illegals. I don’t know why they would ever want to become citizens and inherit this maleficence.
Look at the Illinois debt clock too. They won’t be getting a federal bailout under Trump.
Another new tax, as I have stated before the 10% tax that we have been paying for years to eat a meal out is a true example of a government gone wild for every 10$ you spend you have to pay a dollar in tax this is for something that your body requires, food to stay alive
Now there is a proposal to add 1 more percent to that 10 dollars it is obvious that this will never stop vote no to the proposal
Time to dump the tea into the water the anniversary of that activity by our founding fathers was just a few days ago
wont happen- too many “leaders” and local politicians with their dirty hands in the pie for life and nepotistic $ funnell

FYI IL was ranked I believe the 7th worse. Number one reason was taxes.
I haven’t watched his other video that goes over the 10 best states to retire to. I am almost sure after I retire next year I am leaving IL. I would guess my property tax next year will go up by $1K. If you want to live poor stay in IL.
No doubt this sales tax they will play it up as a way to relieve property taxes and there are just enough dumb voters to fall for it in this county.
If you gave these school districts a trillion dollars they would still want more. Someone asked me one day what do you suppose my parents paid for property taxes back in the 60’s when we got what I call a very good education. I said nothing like today and what they graduate are poorly educated. No joke! We didn’t have the Monsanto green grass turf to play on and swimming pools like a resort.

Illinois should have bankrupt when given chance – wheeler dealers in public service and contractors and schools (getting paid for life by us) who get no pensions but get to have kids and citizens exploited for metrics and research and shady systems (public/private partnerships) and property tax and fee system abuses.
Insurance orgs and “compensation” HR/Benefits systems consultants and integrators are stealing employee data and money more than folks realize in Central Illinois and state wide. Mclean County and school districts are too.
As long as they keep big consulting names (Mckinsey, Accenture, AWS arch, ADP and other quieter ones) and public safety and ESG scoring (Blackrock/Vanguard etc) and Generative AI so called tech as a “show boat” tactic at the expense of the most vulnerable and poor in area the money funnel is simple.
Unit 5 and state wise Superintendents needs to stop catering to this and union abuses of tax $ and students. Insurance – Risk Management and pricing has gone down a dark systems/data path thanks for liberally ran colleges locally. Calling things “central management” is an easy way to approve shady expenses and contracts and projects.
Wake up! Elites and people with monthly or taxpayer paid pensions fir life run these shady poorly implemented platforms and projects so really they could care less.
Its the worker beea who ultimately pay, are easy targets/test rats and will foot the bill for these fools in charge.
Only union backed people are on the April 1st ballot so nothing will change and taxes will keep going up
