State Rep Sonya Harper’s Controversial Slavery Disclosure Bill

Did you know State Representative Sonya Harper introduced a bill called Enslavement Era Disclosure and Redress Act?

“This legislation mandates that any corporation or institution with ties to enslavement or the transatlantic slave trade disclose their historical involvement and provide redress if they wish to do business with the State of Illinois.”

Source: https://reparationscomm.org/reparations-news/landmark-slavery-disclosure-and-redress-act-introduced-in-illinois/

So corporations who provide jobs to citizens of Illinois could be forced to provide money to people who were never slaves just to do business with Illinois? Sounds like the perfect reason to not locate or associate with Illinois government.

Hundreds of years from now progressives will still be pushing for reparations because “victimhood” is a base issue. It doesn’t matter that Sonya Harper is black and is now a State Rep. It doesn’t matter Chicago’s Mayor is black.

Another excerpt:

“This legislation ensures that Illinois takes a stand in requiring corporate responsibility and economic redress for the communities still impacted by these injustices today.”

The bill doesn’t say how “communities still impacted” will be determined.

It gets better! The Illinois Farm Bureau posted the below. They must think agriculture isn’t a target of the bill above. (HB1227)

Progressives want people to leave Illinois. Passing this bill will mean people have to since already high unemployment will go higher.

  1. Farming, agriculture, trade, and protecting American farming is definitely a priority for the current Illinois State government, the Illinois State Farm Bureau and its leadership’s choices in political endorsements, 100% bologna.

Playing nice with the Democrat Party will never get you “Buddy Points”, “Picked for their Team”, or even truly liked by them. They simply make use of their resources, political clout, and then toss aside a “shocked”, surprised, or even dejected but ultimately irrelevant organization, group, or politician. The current Democrat party in Illinois, has no interest in compromise, bettering citizens lives as a whole, only they are only focused on maintaining their positions, voters, power, money, and influence. Marketing to the so called “marginalized” to the exclusion of all else.

Representation in Illinois for Republicans? No. It truly is a state of Taxation without Representation, Over taxation. A state of Unconditional control creating Unconstitutional laws with no recourse in the courts for those with limited means and legal representation. Oppression of law-abiding, moral, Christian Valued citizens over criminality, sexual deviance and perversions, that are even being forced on our children. Disarming law abiding citizens while allowing criminal illegal citizens to remain armed without legally required permits. All these examples and more are happening in our State today, a state named after a man of honor, integrity, liberty, and freedom who saved our Republic from destruction, Abraham Lincoln. In my humble but opinion, Even his fiercest critic, Stephen A Douglas would be ashamed at the current administration, situations, and unconstitutional actions being committed today.

  2. Dalton Illinois has a self proclaimed ‘super mayor’ that is the perfect embodiment of politics and government in Illinois. I think history is showing one thing to be for sure and for certain…’we should’ve picked our own cotton’.

  3. Reparations just moves the equity ideology of the distribution of resources based on shade of skin, from public institutions to private businesses and eventually to individuals. It’s not surprising to see it come out now as DEI is being properly examined.

To agree with this bill, you have to agree to these and other ideological concepts.
    – America was founded on racism and all of its institutions are racist today. (Unit 5’s Equity Audit, and The1619 Project)
    – Private companies, institutions or individuals by virtue of race, ethnicity, or color, bear collective guilt and are inherently responsible for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race, ethnicity, or color.
    – The cause for all racial disparities of achievement is due to illegal racial discrimination. (civil rights violations)

When you agree with these concepts you lock America into being permanently and irreparably divided. It relegates division upon people, companies and institutions that have no part in it and have worked to be free from it. It will never end.

  4. This is the first time in over 40 years that I have not renewed my Farm Bureau membership. When they endorsed Sharon Chung that was when I decided not to renew. Now this makes me know I made the right decision.

  5. At some time in my life I hope to get out of Illinois permanently.
I would like to comment about the aforementioned bill request but doing so especially in Illinois would place me on the racist pedestal. How sad that the liberals have managed to drive a wedge between the races versus bring them together .
As I have stated more than once I was raised to judge people by their character never by the color of their skin but you liberals have managed to destroy any cooperation between the races by your constant badgering of people like myself.
    How sad!!!

    1. The way I see it Bobbywerk3 is that these people are the racists and that fact is evident.

“The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.” Leader of the anti-racist movement, Ibram Kendi – author of “How to Be an Antiracist”

When equality of opportunity becomes a racist belief it’s time to stand up. This is what they are doing and it’s very hard for me to let them get away with it. Little by little they are being exposed.

  6. IFB and Farm Bureau and Every state & county dept ran by Progressive hacks – shady systems and partnerships – Assessment systems & MyTax is a good example of a mess at taxpayer expense (calling it efficiency, centralization, digital transformation and managed service and “AI” all exploit and at taxpayer citizen expense.

Our taxes, dues and fees pay for the mess ran mostly by foreigners or DEI hires at state and county level.

Elites and “strategy” mgr types are not the ones that have to use these systems and workflows- its bad.

“Disney” operations was never a good plan. Everyone is an actor in the horror story we all pay for.

  7. I haven’t read the full legal text, but from the general description, does this mean the Democrat party will finally have to publicly admit the KKK was under Their umbrella? I’m sure not, but a nice thought…
