A reader commented yesterday about Cody Hendricks, claiming he had never voted for anything that hurt people. I think I deleted that comment because it was lengthy and full of propaganda.
Evidently, tripling the water rates doesn’t hurt people — unless you live paycheck to paycheck, where every dollar matters. What if water is included in your rent and the rent has skyrocketed?
11/27/23: Meeting Minutes – See PDF page 3.
I don’t know why there were two votes on one item, but Cody Hendricks voted YES on both. The minutes are purposely vague. If someone wants to find the video, go for it.
When I don’t post certain comments, it’s because truth matters. If you attack me personally, the DELETE button is ready. If the comment is pure propaganda, I sometimes post it and let the readers respond. Writing a book and expecting me to post it? Not happening.
We’ve been down the progressive mayor road before. Tari Renner declared a “structural deficit” and used it as an excuse to create new taxes, like the amusement tax, and raise many others.
Even though the structural deficit disappeared, the taxes didn’t. The 1% tax for schools will never disappear either. Don’t vote for stupid.
(FYI: Krystle Able and Corey Beirne want you to vote yes.)
Enjoy your next water rate increase on May 1st. Thank Cody Hendricks. Maybe the water will be drinkable by then. Maybe not.
Only Sheily Montney and Kent Lee voted NO on the second vote. Jenna Kearns tripled your water bill too. Ward 1 has a better option. Ask Benjamin Zimmerman is he will say the Pledge. Ask Kearns why she doesn’t.

“A reader commented yesterday about Cody Hendricks, claiming he had never voted for anything that hurt people. I think I deleted that comment because it was lengthy and full of propaganda.” I do think it would have been interesting to read this and debate the comment’s merits, rather than you deleting it as if it were a thought crime. Anyone who knows your blog well knows your commentors will take down arguments if they feel inclined, so it would have been nice to see the original comment and the discussion it started.
My website my rules.
We know!
See if the paper allows all comments. They don’t
Is this the big secret about him you were alluding to yesterday?
No
What’s the secret about Cody? I need to vote soon!
No need to early vote when few will show up
Our exorbitant house taxes go towards paying Cody Hendricks pay and pension as he is a school teacher
If you think that he will make an effort to lower our taxes on our homes I have a bridge to sell you
Don’t I repeat don’t vote for Cody Hendricks
