Five Things You Need to Know

Cody changed his endorsements, perhaps after years in office when he finally read the city code and realized he had violated it by claiming the McLean County Democrats endorsed him. He replaced it with an endorsement from Alderman Jenna Kearns, who violated the same code in the same way Cody did. Brilliant!

The video below features Dean Fletcher’s recap of the local conspiracy to pass the 1% sales tax increase. It is very detailed and specific—he brings proof obtained through FOIA emails and other readily available data.

One point Dean made that I haven’t clarified is this: If the sales tax passes, school districts will reallocate the new money to areas where funds are already budgeted. The new sales tax can’t be used for operations, but that won’t stop schools from shifting money they already spend on things like building maintenance to operations and replacing it with the new sales tax revenue. (This is also called a shell game.)

Both enrollments and test scores are decreasing while the property taxes you already pay have skyrocketed. In Dean’s opinion, the schools and the Regional Office of Education committed election interference and engaged in illegal coordination. His findings have led to an investigation by the Sheriff’s Department. The video is long because it’s packed with information. Show up and vote NO!

Roger Bedeker has received donations. Compare his to what his opponent Abby Scott received: https://blnnews.com/2025/03/26/who-is-funding-abby-scott/

Donations under $1,000 for all candidates won’t be known until after the election when quarterly reports are filed.

Charlie Kirk, Founder of Turning Point USA, is coming to ISU. Charlie and his organization expose college students across the country to conservative principles, many for the first time.

The far left doesn’t want college students exposed to any other ideology than western civilization needs abolished. Expect the locals to protest.

Charlie is an Illinois native. If you’ve never watched him talk to students, play a little of this:

5)

Even if you think you have nothing on your ballot to vote for, get out and vote NO on the 1% sales tax increase. Illinois already has the highest total tax burden in the country. No unit of government needs more money; Illinois needs new leadership to ensure your money isn’t wasted.

Or move to a state that values citizens instead of progressive ideology.

  1. I don’t agree with Charlie Kirk, I think he’s a blow-hard who’s just trying to get rich, like most pundits, from BOTH sides. That being said, I’m glad to see colleges finally allowing him on campus. All viewpoints need to be heard, whether you like them or not.

    1. BNindy,
What about the things Kirk says do you not agree with?
      Economic Policy
      Social Issues
      Education
      DEI
      Immigration
      Religious Liberty
      Support for Donald Trump?
Capitalism and the ability to get rich in any way that you’ve been gifted with?

  2. That’s usually the goal of working, INDY, to improve your wealth. And after a certain amount of time to “get rich.” I suppose when you worked, you turned down every raise that came your way.

        1. Nope, 37.5, but usually more. I’m salary, so I don’t get paid any overtime, which is fine. And I’m sure he’s 100% honest with tax returns. 🙄
I find him to be a hateful prick, but that’s my opinion. Like I said, both sides need to be heard. I don’t have anything against him being here. I just don’t like him, and people like him, who do this just for money and popularity. Nothing anyone can say can make me think these talking heads (on the left and the right) don’t do this for anything more than money.

  3. Have to admit, never listened to Kirk but was aware of him. Son listens to him alot. Just watching the clips, it’s amazing how entitled these twenty somethings think they are and how ignorant they are of the simplist of immigration law. I know it was bad what some of these professors tried to sell you when I was in school, I can’t imagine what it’s like now. It’s even more amazing the amount of students that buy into a professors propaganda.

  4. If you don’t buy into the professors propaganda, you’ll probably fail the class.

    1. If that is indeed the case said person should should file a formal complaint with the academic senate, pick better classes or teachers or find another college or university. I get the point but if the teacher is that big of a douche, drop the class and make it up later. If you ask around, students know who the terrible and insane instructors are and you can completely avoid them. The chick in the referenced video was clueless on how proper immigration is suppose to work in a properly functioning society.
