Of course everything passed. Of course the outgoing members of the Council received plaques and praise. Only two items of note:

This video is a part of a Public Comment by Jackie Beyer. She watched a bid opening for the downtown streetscape. It came in much higher than projected – 63% higher.

City Manager Jeff Jurgens did respond towards the end of the meeting during his comments. Staff will review the bid for possible cuts. He also claimed there was an alternate bid that allowed the contractor more time to complete the project which lowered the cost, still above what the community was told:

This exchange was the only mention of the salary increase and contract extension for the City Manager. You are expected to laugh:

  1. Bloomington government has been taken over by communist ideology. Stockton’s lack of political intellect contributed to the process as Renner came in and pushed it hard. Traitor. Followed with Mboka as alderman appointed to council during the Stockton regime of which his appointment was due to being controllable. I pray Dan Brady has the will to turn this thing around.

  2. Stockton, like many in the SF hierarchy, was not as smart as he thought he was. SF liked having employees in city government to push the company’s agenda. It was usually not their best and brightest. I can remember him shutting down anyone that was opposed to the form based code, even though it was clear he didn’t understand its implications and the negative effects it would have on business and residences. He was just going along with it because the city manager told him it was a good idea.
