Eight things you need to know

1)

Did everyone miss this in yesterday’s story on the comments made by retired judge Knecht? https://blnnews.com/2025/04/28/laws-apply-to-judges-too/

Knecht thinks ICE should have operated in secret, behind closed doors, instead of attempting to arrest a criminal illegal at the courthouse. This isn’t government “For and By The People”. It is how most of government operates these days.

https://illinoiscomptroller.gov/financial-reports-data/data-sets-portals/chartsgraphs/asylum-seekers

Does anyone believe Illinois has quit spending money on illegals? That website shows $153,754,975 spent from November 1, 2023 through April 28, 2025 with no entries since March 12, 2025. That is in addition to $478,000,000 spent before that. Illinois can’t find a few cuts to keep family farms by eliminating or raising the the estate tax limit.

Who do Democrats care about? Their spending shows the truth.

3)

More proof of Democrat priorities: All the bills filed to raise the senior property tax exemption income threshold died. They don’t care if senior are taxed out of their homes. The exemption is way behind inflation and hasn’t been increased in over 5 years.

4)

One thing I didn’t get around to from last week’s Bloomington Committee of the Whole meeting was the annual report by the PSCRB – PUBLIC SAFETY & COMMUNITY RELATIONS BOARD.

The purpose of this group was to hear complaints against the police department citizens felt were not resolved. Last year they heard ZERO cases. They did find 2 youth who were willing to serve on the board. Without complaints they have to create items to discuss.

I drove by State Farm where all the Rivians were parked. The volume is down to 1 row. Maybe the rest went to HelloFresh: https://supplychaindigital.com/sustainability/why-rivian-is-hellofreshs-ev-provider-of-choice

6)

I was contacted yesterday by a person who tried to OPT OUT of the electric aggregation plan in Bloomington. He claimed following the directions opted him back in. If you want to opt-out, be careful.

7)

Bloomington really wants people taking the MIller Park survey: https://engage.thinkconfluence.com/miller-park-plan

These surveys historically have a very low participation rate. That means policy is formed based on the few that do answer it.

I haven’t looked at it, but I bet leaving it along and just maintaining what is there isn’t one of the answers.

8)

Property tax bills are posted on the County website: https://mcleanil.devnetwedge.com/

If you don’t want to wait until you get the bill in the mail, look it up now.

  1. Illinois is so overly infested with the rotten, lying, deceitful politics endorsed by Pritzger and the Madigans before him. Dishonest elections. It is sickening. As I was able to move a few years back, I did and told the kids if they want to see me, then visit me out of state. They too will eventually move.

    1. JB being 60 y.o and packing that weight around I would say his odds of meeting his maker increases daily. Not even all the money he has will stop that. He absolutely dislikes Trump after the Hyatt lawsuit and they had to pay Trump’s lawyers. His vile New Hampshire speech should alarm anyone. He thinks he’s POTUS material. LMAO Even with all the money he has and used it he’d never get elected.

  2. I looked this evening at my property taxes and it went up by almost $1,000 because of the Heyworth school district. What we need is about 6 very conservative people to run for the board and get elected. Then start whacking the budget. They would have no choice but to reduce spending. So long Monsanto green lawns.
