This email was obtained through a FOIA request. The writer, Jess, served as the temporary township supervisor and chose not to run for election. The previously elected supervisor passed away while in office. Krystle Able was elected township supervisor in April 2025.
One unanswered question in this policy is whether employees can increase their pensions by receiving payment for accumulated sick days. I will need to file a FOIA request with the retirement fund to determine if accelerated payments have been charged to the township.
One additional note: After Jess announced his last day as supervisor and at the township, Krystle Able rehired him as her administrative assistant. Further details from the FOIA will be provided later. Does your employer permit the accumulation of sick days with payment upon retirement?
