OMA Violation: Normal Township

By: Diane Benjamin

The agenda was not posted on line for the meeting held September 18th. https://normaltownship.org/index.php/clerks-office/board-agenda/

By September 22nd the agenda was still not posted. The agenda contains a zoom address that was NOT available to anyone in the public who wanted to watch that meeting. I filed a Request for Review with the Illinois General’s office that day.

I know what excuse will be used for not posting it as required by law 48 hours before meetings. I’m sure Krystle Able has already thought of it, but I’d hate to tip her off.

Failure to to comply with the Open Meetings Act is a Class C misdemeanor. Don’t expect that to apply here, the Public Access office will excuse this violation.

Evidently handling 2 full time jobs isn’t possible after all. Why are minutes still pending from April, June, and August since the September 18th Agenda states they would be approved at that meeting? https://normaltownship.org/index.php/clerks-office/board-minutes/

  1. Didn’t Krystle hire people to do her work for her and then tell everyone how great of a job she was doing? The clock is ticking Krystle and we’re all watching.

      1. Diane & Ghost……that is the problem……apathy from the community. I see it all the time, in towns like ours, and in HOAs. The people most qualified are usually the least likely to run for office. It’s thankless…. if you make the best decision a good number of very vocal locals will start squawking. If you’re a businessman, which is what I think are among the most qualified, you’re concerned for pushback affecting business. This opens the door to the radical loser, often from academia, which imo, is the worst source. Not near enough Trumps…..way to many Bidens.
