Update: McLean County’s Land Use Plan: Who’s Really in Charge?

It appears McLean County is doing a study and the McLean County Regional Planning Commission is doing another. This story mixes the two and will take more work.

By: Diane Benjamin

The McLean County Regional Planning Commission website shows 7 employees and 2 interns: https://mcplan.org/about-us/about-mcrpc/staff

Those employees didn’t want to create or aren’t capable of making a Land Use Plan, so they recommended the County hire this firm:

See their website here: https://gettingbetterallthetime.com/our-group/

The only two people mentioned who work for this group have the same last name. It doesn’t say what the relationship is. Why weren’t the seven employees paid to plan capable of doing it?

How much did Mejorando Group charge the County?

See the contract here:

Since the “plan” is now a second draft, how much more did the County agree to pay?

This is included on PDF page 21:

PDF page 11 has this reference:

Slate Communications website: https://www.slatecommunications.com/

Summary:

-The plans for McLean County aren’t local plans by people who live in McLean County.

-A communications specialist is in charge of convincing people to support it.

-This document is NOT advisory. The screenshot from PDF page 21 states implementation begins as soon as it passes.

One more thing: The population of McLean County isn’t growing according to the site: https://worldpopulationreview.com/us-counties/illinois/mclean-county

  1. So what are we paying the Mclean County Regional Planning Commission for ?

Really, what DO the well paid staff on the Planning Commission do for 7 hrs per day year after year ? It seems they have to hire consultants to do the job WE pay them to do !

Also , what actual planning qualifications does Mark Adams have to be a community planner ? How does being a Krystle Able acolyte even qualify a person to work in such a technical profession?

Many in local government are dead weight employees that can’t get any job outside of fast food.

The Democrat controlled county government is so busy giving themselves pay raises and hiring their incompetent friends they have to hire consultants to do the actual work.

  2. Consulting/Training : Meyers Briggs and most “certifications” is an expensive joke too (more pay to play scams and money funnel most likely).

    $$$
